This place has amazing vibes and definitely worth the trip. Surfing and beach were top notch. Good was excellent. Made tons of friends at the beach fire hangouts.

This place truly does have a different model. Love the fact that they use solar power (I never heard them turn on the generators once). Staff is great, especially Alex who'll make you feel right at home. Getting there isn't half as difficult as it might seem; there's always a boat on-hand to shuttle you there (

Overall super amazing place! Cleanly, isolated on the ocean, fairly priced, and nice staff. The only thing was the food was blah, especially being vegetarian there wasn't much selection. Secondly, was super quiet when we were there and all staff basically kept to themselves, so would have been nice for a little interaction since there was basically no other guests. Again overall you cannot miss this place!

    Very Good

Beachfront and good quiet time. I’m sure this place use to be pumping but during my stay it was dead - I liked it but not ideal for solo travellers. Menu prices were really expensive as a backpacker. The main dorm was comfortable with sea breeze but no fans and during the night we had cats jumping on beds and bats flying around inside. The highlight of the stay was the beach. We had it pretty much to ourselves and the sunsets were amazing!

This place was disappointing. Maybe the mixed reviews depend on the day you go and the group you go with. No real atmosphere and the place felt like there was a lot of empty space that could be utilized to make it feel more welcoming. It had an atmosphere of worn down and semi-abandoned. The staff were helpful, but could be the lady I spoke to and because I speak Spanish because there are mixed reviews. Food was ok at best and $$$, but we shared a fish and appetizer so it was ok.

Surfing turtle Lodge has potential to be amazing due to its location. Unfortunately it's let down by the accomidation. The dorm is filthy, there was bat poo everywhere and all night your battling to get cats out of your bed which must climb into the doom through the roof. The food was overpriced and very basic. And the staff were rather unhelpful.

Beautiful location lacking some basics. Food was over priced staff were pleasant but no real atmosphere at all. There were bat droppings all over the dorm and cats get in every night and sleep on your bed with you. The bathrooms hygiene was not the best. There were volunteers there who were better fed than paying customers.(ordered the same thing as them and they got triple the size serving and the meal was $5 not suitable for back packing budget) Strange place but beautiful location.

I wanted to like this place but had a really disappointing stay. Beach hut has no fan or mosquito net so the mixture of bugs and heat made the stay extremely uncomfortable. We also had gecko poo on our bed. Booked a surf lesson and the instructor never showed up. Signed up for yoga and the instructor also didn’t show. Booked two nights, left after the first night. Getting to the hostel felt like a scam. No info about the turtle conservation. Only positive about this place is the amazing beach.

The main building sucks. There’s a thin sheet (not tied down) on the ceiling so mosquitoes get in. Also in this building (dorm and private rooms with shared bathroom) these two cats climb up the screens near the stairs into the ceiling (where you can hear birds living) then jump down into bed with you. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Also the food made me sick, expensive and terrible. Did Laundry here as well and they lost a couple items. This place needs a lot of love before i’d go back. My worst review yet.

Booked a bamboo lodge, there was blood on the sheets and so much bugs in there we couldn’t stay there we got moved to another private room which was fine. The second night we had to move to a dorm which was the most unhealthy dorm I have ever been in. There were bats in the dorm making noise all night and my gf couldn’t sleep in the top bunk cause it was cover in batt c**p. Food was very poor and expensive. Two other guest there with us on Friday was dead. Felt like I wasted money and time here
