This is not a posh place, but if you want a feel for a classic residence on a quiet street in an excellent location, this is a great place to be. Facilities were basic but fine. Staff were very nice. Bed nets for mosquitoes might not be a bad addition, but I thought it was charming, and I enjoyed my stay a lot.

Very nice hostel with an incredible location, couple hundred metres from a UNESCO site and within easy walking distance of a couple more, as well as a major byway with busses to all of the cities major attractions. Hostel itself is clean and beautiful. The hostel dog Andy is very very sweet. Mattress leaves a bit to be desired and lockers dont lock, however front desk provides storage for valuables. Well worth the stay.

Good location for the ‘town on the river’ part of Suzhou. The city was a short 17RMB taxi away. Staff were lovely and the hostel’s dog Andy was a lovely greeter. Great value for money. Actual beds themselves, guests have to make for themself. You can see the old stains and ‘wear and tear’ of the mattresses. Also at 9am the air con turns off automatically so you wake up extremely hot.

It is cool. Historically it used to be a chinese mansion in the Suzhou waterways. They have a dog and a few cats that are super friendly. Their english was pretty decent. The dorm lockers dont have a lock. The atmostphere is very chill here. I enjoyed my weekend here, and found the staff helpful

Very nice hostel, staff are very friendly and it is a good location, can be a we bit hard to find but other than that no problems. Beware they have a dog so if you're allergic that might be a problem, but if you like dogs he' brill!

    Very Good

Do not use their directions to get to the hostel. I got hopelessly lost. You can take the metro and get to the Xiangmen stop and it’s about a ten minute walk from there. The staff spoke only basic English, which isn’t a problem unless they are calling you on your phone 4 hours before check in asking where you are. After I knew where it was and wasn’t worried they were going to cancel my reservation it was enjoyable. It was just getting there.

Hostel was damp. Didn't feel like a private room, felt like a place with wooden walls and 2 beds. The receptionist's dog peed on our bag, she wiped it but still. Mediocre WiFi. It was quiet. 15 min walk to the closest metro station. Other than that the location is very nice and in a traditional neighbourhood with lots of shops. If you walk further there is a really nice shopping district & a museum nearby. Recommend only if you're on a budget. Another hostel nearby offers breakfast.

It is unusually for me to give a negative review. I always appreciate people's efforts. This hostel has an excellent location and is housed in a beautiful old building. It is a shame that the building is so neglected. If something is not done urgently the woodwork will be permanently damaged. The showers are filthy. Come on Guys, this can be fixed easily! The toilet bins and dustbins were over flowing most of the time. Not all staff members were friendly, a smile can go a long way!

I hate to give bad reviews, but if you want something even MODERATELY nice, this is not the hostel for you. A/C does not get room very cold. Rooms are TINY. Little to no common area. mattress is just a 1 inch pad on top of wood. It was rough. However it is super cheap so if you are trying to be INCREDIBLY frugal, go for it.
