Sapa is definitely a very average town, I followed Googles advice to stay in the mountains and found Ta Van to be stunning. A taxi to Ta Van from Sapa is standard at 200k while a bike is less than 100k, there’s also a 75k entrance fee, but the cost was very worth it in my opinion. There’s a reason the Homestay has such high reviews, it’s got amazing views, a delicious included breakfast, and an amazing host that can direct you on hikes based on your desires.

Really can't recommend this place enough if you're looking to get away from all the tourism and crowds of Sapa, without losing the views and general atmosphere of the region. Although the main road to the village is very bad and will take you some time to navigate, the hostel is the ultimate place to chill out - expect to spend most of your day on the terrace. They're so helpful arraging anything when they're asked - whether it is dinner, laundry or transportation to your next destination.

I had a great stay at this hostel, beds were good and had a great view with hammocks over the ta van area. The owner, Hong, is very nice and helped me book a taxi for very cheap back to Sapa.

Great homestay! It’s the perfect place to start hiking trips or just relax in the hammocks. The atmosphere is very familiar and we extended our stay twice because we didn’t want to leave. Big plus: One of the dogs recently gave birth to super cute puppies :)

Good location amazing views and breakfast. loads of pancakes and fruit. Location is a while out of sapa town but is perfect for starting hikes! Didn't see any lockers in the rooms however we filled the dorm so this wasn't a problem for us Had washing done and it was the best washing I've ever smelt!

We were shocked to see this was the highest rated hostel in Sa pa. The host speaks good English and will help if you ask... when she’s around. She was rarely there and the workers there didn’t speak much English so it was hard to ask anything from them. Rooms only have 1 key, The bathroom didn’t have toilet paper or AC, and lots of insects since the windows are open. The breakfast was the best part! The lounge area has a beautiful view and hammocs, location is ok its not too far from things.
