I loved this hostel. I only stayed a short time but it was really comfortable. The room was nice and warm and the bathroom spotless. The staff are super friendly and seriously clean the place. There's a lot of nice communal space. The lounge area is like a large comfortable living room and the kitchen is more homey, less hostel-ish :). The location is excellent--close to everything you need in Old Town. You can walk everywhere. Highly recommend!

As the staff are all live in there is a very friendly, homely atmosphere. The rooms have locks, but these aren't really used, though you do get a lockable locker in the entrance area outside the dorms. Location couldn't be better. Really great stay, extended my visit by a night I liked it so much.

Cool place with cool people, not a party hostel but a good vibe. I do wish the lockers were in the room and could do with a couple more bathrooms.

I stayed in the six bed mix dorm for two nights. The staff were friendly and gave tips on where to go and eat in Tallinn, which was very useful. The location of this hostel, in the heart of Old Town, cannot be better! The only drawbacks were more structural e.g. I could feel the springs protruding from the mattress in the bed as I was lying down, and the toilet, sink and shower were all in one bathroom which was for a whole level to share.

Hostel location was great. It’s a pretty quiet hostel with minimal opportunities to meet other travelers through group activities. En-suite room is worth the extra cost. Super clean throughout. But... let’s talk about the bed mattresses!!! I could feel every spring. It hurt my knee to reach across the bed to get something. But if you got your scapula and ribs between the springs there’s a possibility of finding a decent position to sleep.

    Very Good

    30 Dec 2019
The location is very convenient and the staff friendly. However, theres only one bathroom for sharing for all the dorms, which means it is tricky to plan for showers and toilet visits. Shoes have to be taken off if you want to enter the rooms or common area, which creates queues on the stony, cold stairs with a little space for maneuvers.

The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. There are no lights or privacy curtains by the beds. You have to take your shoes off as soon as you enter the building and there is only one bathroom per floor. The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable. The lockers were also very small. Certainly not big enough for a suitcase or bigger backpack. A very basic hostel with a great location but little else to offer.

Tallinn Backpackers says

I think what makes us special is that we don't allow large groups to book into our hostel, so we have the ability to have one-on-one contact with each and every guest. We really try to make everyone feel like family, and will all our local knowledge we can guide anyone in the right direction for what Tallinn has to offer.
Each night a staff member cooks a hostel dinner for only â'¬3 per serving and they even clean the plate for you! This is a good start before it's time to hit up our small bar for happy hour, but don't be careless after 7.30pm when the only rule of the hostel comes into play... Facebook Violation; during happy hour Facebook is banned in the common room, allowing for more group interaction.
We're located in the middle of Tallinn's historical Old Town, only an arms length away from all the main attractions. One place all staff recommend is 'III Drakon', a real medieval tavern that serves elk soup with generous pies and the right beer for so cheap that you can buy for your friends as well. All servings are â'¬1 and the service stays true to medieval times, so this should not be missed.
We're ideally suited for solo travellers between the ages of 18 and 35. It's a hostel for backpackers, run by backpackers, and staff are both locals and backpackers themselves. Matt, Owner/Manager
