Check out the Gallery of Modern Art or Royal Exchange Square, which is filled with cafés and shops. We’re really easy to get to – our nearest train station is Alexandra Parade, which is a 12-minute walk away. From Glasgow Airport, jump on the 500 Airport Express service towards the city centre, get off at Dundas Street, then get the ScotRail train to Alexandra Parade.

    Superb

Very comfortable bedrooms, very nice to be able to have a private room with my group. Location was not a bad walk from downtown Glasgow and the rooms were very quiet too at night which was nice. Almost felt more like an inn than a hostel. Only issue was the card machine didn't work, which was odd... it was very tough to have to pay cash upfront but fortunately I had enough for emergencies.

    Fabulous

If you are OK with the location being a bit out of the city centre, this hostel is good. Comfy beds with secure under-bed lockable storage, friendly housecleaning staff & reception, a lounge AND a games room, a free guitar for use (I play guitar so this was nice to find!), and cheap drinks & savouries. I did not have breakfast nor used the kitchen during my stay so cannot comment on those.

    Fabulous

Very cheap hostel for the UK. My 8 bed dorm was spacious and comfortable and was warm which was essential due to the weather. Bathroom was clean as well. The building itself is big and there is a decent if small kitchen, and a large communal space and laundry facility as well. The only slight drawback is the location as you will either need to get a bus from town or it's a 30 minute walk from the main bus station. Staff were friendly during my stay.

    Very Good

Good location and is a pretty average hostel stay. Rooms are a little cramped, making them stuffy. Kitchen was always dirty and if you came at the wrong time the sink could be over flowing with dishes. But it is a quick walk in to town!

Smells super gross in the kitchen / lounge area! A bit strange how you can only pay in cash, I think there should be prior warning. It's in the middle of nowhere and a 30 minute walk into town so not an ideal location. Staff were chill and the room was clean.

    Good

Booked in for a mixed dorm, ended up being put in with all boys. It was off peak season so there were plenty of rooms available. The bathroom had mould on the door growing which was gross. There was only one worker there that was super helpful, everyone else was a little rude and they misplaced my I.D. Probably wouldn't go back but you get what you pay for!

This could be a very good hostel if the management had higher standards about who was allowed to stay here. Personally, I was verbally abused and physically assaulted just outside the front door by a strange goblin-like character obviously under the influence of drink and/or drugs who was, apparently, a long term resident of this hostel and who took umbrage to me querying the staff about him exposing himself/urinating on the front steps!!!!

The worst place I have ever stayed in my life- as a solo female traveller I felt extremely unsafe in the common spaces in the lodge and even in the dorms the conditions were so bad I considered finding a 24 hour McDonalds to sleep in instead!!!

Do not risk booking a bed/room at this hostel. They have a high rate of cancellations and will cancel your booking if they can get more money by upping the price and selling the bed to other customers, leaving you stranded upon arrival. [ You have been warned! ] I arrived all the way from london to be told ‘all rooms are taken’ and I would need to email the manager to get a refund. I have sent numerous emails without reply and still wait be refunded 3 weeks later.
