Because you are making a Group Booking, there are additional Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read them and click 'I Accept' below to continue with your booking

General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through Hostelworld.com you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by Hostelworld.com and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on Hostelworld.com it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • Hostelworld.com are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card 4 weeks prior to arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Cancellation / No Show & Reduction in Numbers Policy

ALL GROUP BOOKINGS ARE NON REFUNDABLE.

Additional Terms and Conditions

A deposit equal to the full booking is required prior to arrival and this can paid via cash or debit / credit card (£3 charge applicable by card). Tartan Lodge reserves the right to cancel any bookings, at any time and without reason or recourse.

In the case of group bookings (up to 6 persons), all outstanding fees for accommodation must be paid at check-in on arrival date of the booking. In the case of a group booking (over 6 persons), all outstanding fees must be paid, and cleared, not less than 28 days prior to arrival date.

The deposit paid either via the Tartan Lodge booking engine, one of our affiliate web sites, telephone and credit card or direct deposit is non-refundable.

The following group types are not accepted by this hostel: Junior / Primary School, High / Secondary School If you have misrepresented the type of group you are booking for, your booking may be cancelled by the hostel."

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Property Description

Tartan Lodge provides affordable accommodation for budget and business travellers in mind, comprising of a selection of double bedrooms and twin rooms all with ensuite bathrooms and LCD Tvs. Additionally, our boutique hotel has shared dormitories for budget travellers and backpackers, with a choice of fourteen, eight, six, four and three bed dormitories for male and female only dormitories offering bespoke bunk bed design which offer a double plug socket, shelve and underneath storage for each bunk. All dormitories include ensuite and facilities for families as well. For an additional fee you can hire Towels from us for £2 (plus £5 deposit), or purchase a padlock for your bunk for £2. We also offer a reading light for each bunk which is available from reception.

Our triple private room is furnished with a double bed and a single bed.

Guests are equally welcome to cook their own meals in our fully fitted kitchen with cooker, microwave and utensils.

Please note:
Cancellation policy: 72hr before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check in from 14:00 to 22:00.
Check out before 11:00.

Late check in after 22.00 incurs a charge of £5 per person.
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards.
Taxes included.
Continental Breakfast not included - 4.00 GBP per person per day.
No curfew.
We do not accept customers younger than 18yrs years of age unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Under 18ys are not allowed in our dorms.

    Not the room I booked online My room was to have maximum four beds Was put in a larger dorm not ideal. Room was very busy constant people entering and leaving even during early hours of morning Toilet door doesn't close unless you bang the door a few times not ideal when people using toilet through the night . The experience of the room and fact of it being wrong room put me off I was supposed to go back Friday and Saturday but cancelled booking. Kitchen also closed at moment.

    There were a few things broken like the bathroom door and the kettle wasn’t working properly. The dining area was locked, so I couldn’t access it. The staff at the reception wasn’t really welcoming.

    The room floor wasn't clean when we arrived. All the facilities like kitchen, games area we're closed, making us spend more money with eating out. Overall a bad experience. I do not recommend.

    I stayed here for 5 days. There were a lot of issues at the hostel. The level of service was not consistent. Prices changed depending on who you spoke to. I paid £28 for a private twin room. We were then given 2 beds in mixed dorm. Then told we had been done a ‘favour’ by not charging us another £5. The price on line was £26. The mixed room had a broken bathroom, a broken tap. We were then moved to another room that was mixed. Then moved to room ‘040’ where none of the electrics worked.

    Tried to check in and apparently my booking had been cancelled, and that they had no availability. The man at the reception desk was allegedly oblivious as to why my booking, and apparently the bookings of many others who were supposed to stay there this week, had been cancelled without warning. Ended up finding alternative accommodation. I would recommend just booking a different hostel from the start to avoid such a distressing situation.

    Poor hygiene, bunk bed hadnt been completely made up when I arrived. Sink was broken, and room generally wasn't very clean. I decided not to stay after an hour as I was very disappointed and I wasn't given a refund. I would strongly advise against staying here, I wasn't the only customer who walked out that day. The management seems very chaotic, they took 20 mins to check me in after I'd waited 10 mins for someone to arrive. Once paid, they couldn't even count the change they owed me properly.

    The Tartan Lodge cancelled my stay the morning of my arrival due to mysterious "unforeseen" circumstances and didn't take any calls or return the voicemails that were left, forcing us to find a much more expensive place at the very last minute. I'm not an unreasonable person, if you had a gas leak or the whole staff got COVID that's frustrating but I understand, it's the complete lack of any explanation and the refusal to return any messages to follow up on the matter that really bothers me.
