Because you are making a Group Booking, there are additional Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read them and click 'I Accept' below to continue with your booking

General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card 4 weeks prior to arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Additional Terms and Conditions

A deposit equal to the full booking is required prior to arrival and this can paid via cash or debit / credit card (£3 charge applicable by card). Tartan Lodge reserves the right to cancel any bookings, at any time and without reason or recourse.

In the case of group bookings (up to 6 persons), all outstanding fees for accommodation must be paid at check-in on arrival date of the booking. In the case of a group booking (over 6 persons), all outstanding fees must be paid, and cleared, not less than 28 days prior to arrival date.

The deposit paid either via the Tartan Lodge booking engine, one of our affiliate web sites, telephone and credit card or direct deposit is non-refundable.

The following group types are not accepted by this hostel: Junior / Primary School, High / Secondary School If you have misrepresented the type of group you are booking for, your booking may be cancelled by the hostel."

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Tartan Lodge provides affordable accommodation for budget and business travellers in mind, comprising of a selection of double bedrooms and twin rooms all with ensuite bathrooms and LCD Tvs. Additionally, our boutique hotel has shared dormitories for budget travellers and backpackers, with a choice of eight, six, four and three bed dormitories for male and female only dormitories offering bespoke bunk bed design which offer a double plug socket, shelve and underneath storage for each bunk. All dormitories include ensuite and facilities for families as well. For an additional fee you can hire Towels from us for £2 (plus £5 deposit), or purchase a padlock for your bunk for £2. We also offer a reading light for each bunk which is available from reception.

Our triple private room is furnished with a double bed and a single bed.

Guests are equally welcome to cook their own meals in our fully fitted kitchen with cooker, microwave and utensils.

Please note:
Cancellation policy: 72hr before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check in from 14:00 to 21:00 .
Check out before 11:00 .

Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards.
Taxes included.
Continental Breakfast not included - 4.00 GBP per person per day.
No curfew.
We do not accept customers younger than 18yrs years of age unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Under 18ys are not allowed in our dorms.

    It was a pleasant stay. The accommodation was not completely spotless, but overall clean enough, if you're not too delicate. A bit noise does come from the highway around the corner, but not so much you can't ignore it. The highlight was the staff. They were really, really friendly, helpful and kind. So thank you!

    A good first experience at a hostel for me. Clean and comfy beds, had to buy my own lock for security. Nice to have an en suite including shower in my 6 bunk dorm. Good vibe all round (nice mix of people staying). I didn't use the kitchen but it seemed okay - a little small with only 4 people allowed in at once. Rooms in general were small and it was a little confusing finding my way around the rabbit warren but that was part of the charm. I would definitely stay there again.

    We were on the top of the house and my daughter was on crutches wearing a boot and I have arthritis so the climb was difficult. We didn’t ask for a room downstairs to start with but when we asked for a change a fully mobile fellow was in that room. Why can mobile people that come first to the lodge not be put in rooms upstairs first and always keep the room downstairs for less mobile if they come to stay in a private room.

    The staff were almost never at reception. Bed checks were conducted every night between 9pm and midnight, even if you were sleeping they would turn all the lights on. Lounge areas not very comfortable. Pillow was falling to pieces in room. Cleaning starts at 6am, in common areas, this can be noisy. Bedroom cleaning starts at 9. No clean tea towels in kitchen, bathmats not changed daily. Key cards to room stop working daily.

    Good reception and immaculately clean. I had booked into a mixed dorm. The first room stank of smoke - I requested a move to a different dorm. Again, clean and comfortable but a group of dormers spent the night switching on lights, banging doors, showering, talking etc and we’re aggressive with other dormers so NO SLEEP for me.

    The place is cheap, but far of the center (and in a quite scary neighborhood) and they don't take credit cards there. Also, the facilities are old, but the recreation area is OK. during my stay of 2 nights, the room was not cleaned even once. The Staff, when required, were not really friendly (a special quote for the rude lady that stay on the night shift) or helpful. If you want cheap stay, and not care much about quality, its your choice.

    Overall the place and location was alright. However there were a couple of things that are worth mentioning 1- We were charged extra GBP 5 per person for late checkin - this wasnot mentioned to us at the time of booking 2- Almost all hostel provide the toiletries and stuff - nothing was provided to us 3- we went to the kitchen lounge area which was not clean and was smelling bad 4- Parking was very small and we had to park it on the street Overall not a good experience.

    It was unsafe, bad neighbourhood, rude staff, unclean, card facilities down after I waited 30 minutes to check in, I had to go find a cash machine. And I was initially placed in the wrong room. The staff walked into the rooms to do bed checks early morning and late night. The kitchen and common area were disgusting because they never cleaned it it was for customers to clean. I never used it. I will never go back if I could have left I would have ran away. DON’T BOOK THIS HOSTEL!!
