Probably my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed at there was nothing better than waking up every morning and eating the amazing breakfast with the priceless view of the city. The staff were excellent and willing to assist you at all times, the location was excellent 10 min walk to the metro or to Lapa for nightlife, always felt completely safe there and the common area was excellent for meeting other travellers. Would recommend anyone going to Rio to stay here.

Good spot. My style. Very chill. It doesn’t have those obnoxious travelers with the wrist bands from their last lame party hostel.

Excellent place to stay in one of the best neighborhoods of Rio. Everything is amazing in the hoste, nice view, quiet, good vibe. The rooms are comfortable and the attention excellent, the staff has helpful advices to visit the city. It's really enjoyable walk around the hostel and is easy go everywhere from there.

What a pleasure to wake up and have breakfast on such a view! This is a safe place located on the city center heights with all the charm of a Brazilian hostel. They also had an amazing staff :)

Very good hostel, close to the metro station. Clean towels and linen. No problems with staff. Good views for the centre. Generally highly recommended. Atmosphere could be a bit better but generally ok.

Beautiful location and very chilled hostel, exactly what we needed for a weekend away in Rio. The sheets on some of the beds didn't look very new and some had odd stains on and the pillows weren't particularly comfortable, but the location outweighted the slightly uncomfortable beds. Free breakfast also a plus! Fruit, bread , cheese, meat and cake (as well as a toastie machine!).

    Very Good

We were going to stay four nights but unfortunately we cut our trip here short as we were robbed at gunpoint not 5 minutes from the hostel our first night there. We were on a street from the hostel to the downtown area, a route recommended to us by the hostel staff. Talking with other Brazilians, many said that Santa Teresa is not the safest place to stay. Other than that the hostel itself was lovely and clean. Staff were very helpful after we were robbed too, just didn't feel safe in the area.

I would love to be able to review Terra Brasilis Hostel, but when I arrived, I was told that they didn’t have room for me, despite me having a confirmed booking via website for a private room with ensuite. They took me to another property a few doors down, telling me that it had ‘nicer’ rooms anyway, and that I wouldn’t have to pay the difference in price that the new property cost. My ‘nicer’ room ended up being about 6 square metres with a shared bathroom. Not what I had paid for.
