Property Description

A Backpackers Bed and Breakfast!

Terviseks, found on the main Town Square, is a brand new home away from home for young travellers wanting to experience Tartu and the South of Estonia.

You can use our kitchen, relax in our living room and enjoy the view of the town square, freshen up in one of our self-contained bathrooms, use our computers or connect to our wifi with your own, wash your clothes ... basically anything that you would do in your own home. We also provide a simple breakfast of toast with Estonian honey, cereal and tea or coffee!

We are Canadian, English and Estonian and have lived in Tartu for years; if you don't know what there is to do here we think we are the best people to tell you what you can do.

Some of our recommendations would be to enjoy the student night life, the selection of quirky museums, a walk in a park or along the river, attend one of the many city festivals held in Tartu, or just chill with us in our living room. We can also help you organise day trips to nearby Lake Peipsi and Otepaa

Terviseks is the perfect place for you whether you want to recharge, party or just explore!

Spacious bedrooms, nice common area, kitchen with everything you need plus eggs/bread/spreads/coffee for breakfast, good and clean bathrooms and all in the best location right in the centre. Yes, the floor boards squeak but it just adds to the charme of the place in my eyes :) There weren't many people around as it was off season (end Sept) but I enjoyed the hostel!

Loved my stay here -- the most friendly and cozy hostel so far on my trip across Europe. Yes the floors are creaky. Yes some of the beds are as well. But the chill atmosphere here, wonderful host and guests, and location in the center of the city make it all worth it. Definitely will be back someday.

The owner is super nice and the hostel has a great, chill vibe. It's also in the best location ever! Unfortunately, there was a fire in the evening, so things got a bit hectic. I cannot review the free breakfast, because that didn't happen due to events the night prior (totally understandable). Another down side was that the fridge really didn't work to keep food cold. Once the place is cleaned up from the damage, I would highly recommend this hostel. If I return to Tartu, I will stay here again

Great kitchen and common area (including guitars!) and lovely people. Bathrooms and dorms were all clean and comfortable. WiFi wasn’t so great in the dorms and the staff were a bit hard to pin down. On my check in day I had to wait 5 hours for an email response to confirm someone would be there to let me in (I tried the doorbell 3x with no answer). Another girl arrived late at night after calling to book that day and staff were not answering phone so I showed her an empty dorm to stay in...

Absolute in the heart of the old town which is awesome. The kitchen is very good and great for cooking your own good. The atmosphere was dead as a dodo, we stayed here and there was only two other Russian men with us. Nice relaxing stay, could be a abit boring if you need constant excitement.

Nice small hostel located on the main square in Tartu. It is a small hostel, I stayed mid October and there were only 3 of us staying there. The common area is nice and cozy with a good aerial view of the main square. Good cooking facilities provided also!

Nice hostel with great location. Common area is spacious but not many seating options. Not so many rooms, I think, so it sufficed while I was there (some rooms are on a different floor). Kitchen has everything you need. Eggs for breakfast was a nice change. All in all would recommend and I was actually really surprised by Tartu itself. Worth a visit.

Quiet hostel, good facilities (eggs at breakfast, nice kitchen, large common area, free towels etc), excellent location. Very creaky floors so bring earplugs!

Location - perfect, right in the middle of the old town square. Facilities were usual, well equipped kitchen, clean washrooms, and rooms, big common area. When we reached, it was on the 4th floor but no elevator. Luckily we found the person on the reception so we could check in. But after that, the guy just vanished and was not available during the entire day/night. Looks like he has a second job. A girl came in the night and just stayed without checking in since there was no reception.
