Property Description

Rome's homiest and most chill hostel since 1999, we're a sanctuary in the midst of a bustling city. From the moment you walk in, The Beehive is the kind of place where you'll feel at home. It's walking barefoot down to the cafe for your morning coffee; getting great advice; eating good food; drinking great wine and having a good night's sleep. Located conveniently just two blocks from Rome's central train station, Termini, you won't have to lug around town a heavy backpack or luggage. Our relaxed vibe and casually stylish atmosphere are perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

Owned and run by Linda and Steve, the American owners who packed up their apartment in Los Angeles and took a chance on a crazy idea. Along with their two cats and a Swiss Army knife, they moved to Rome to follow their dream of creating a unique and welcoming space where they could also share their local insider information to their guests about all the best Rome has to offer.

Whether you're traveling solo, with friends or family, or as a couple, The Beehive has a variety of room types to suit all needs and budgets: dorm beds (including several female-only dorms), private rooms with shared bathroom and private rooms with private bathrooms.

Our cafe serves organic & vegetarian breakfast daily (not included in the rate), communal dinners twice a week and we offer weekly cooking classes. Wine, beer, coffee and tea are available from our reception staff throughout the day. Guests have access to limited self-catering kitchen facilities with microwave, kettle, refrigerator, plates & glasses, but no stovetop or oven access. Relax in the small indoor lounge filled with personal photos, books, board games and a guitar or out in our courtyard garden with trees, plants and colorful murals.

NO 24-hour reception. Our reception closes at 23:00. If your flight arrives after 21:00 it's not likely you will reach us in time. We cannot accept late arrivals. Late arrivals will find a closed reception and will be charged the late cancellation/no show penalty.

NB: Cards will be checked for validity and pre-authorized to check for funds. Any cards found to be invalid or with inadequate funds to cover the reservation amount will result in reservation cancellation.

Cancellation / no-show policy:

This property has a 2 day cancellation policy. Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first two nights of your stay.

COVID UPDATE: Upon reopening in early June we have limited staff and limited services based on the number of guests and our ability to adhere to regional health guidelines. We currently can't guarantee that our cafe will be open or that classes, communal dinners and events will take place (although we're happy to recommend nearby places). We also cannot guarantee staff availability and request you contact us in advance for same-day reservations and be prepared to let us know your arrival time so we can organize check-in. Thanks! Excellent hostel. Even in Corona times, staff created a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. Location is super close to Termini and easy to find. Private room was quite big and, very convenient, has its own sink. I would recommend this hostel and stay again next time in Rome

Lovely hostel and the host Lauren was so friendly. I felt safe As a solo traveller knowing she was a text or call away if I needed her help. Very friendly.

They upgraded us to a double room for free which was nice. The rooms are modern and at least ours had a sink and safe. The garden is really cool and quiet. Unfortunately you can only use the microwave and not the kitchen itself at the moment. There is no breakfast atm. (Both due to the pandemic). The location is in a side street close to Rome's main train station.

Honestly a great experience, first time solo travelling and I’m so glad I chose The Beehive to stay in. Clean and Secure to start with. Not to mention that the environment is amazing. Exactly 1 minute walk from Roma Termini station and a few different convenience stores. So easy to make new friends in this place! Highly recommend to anyone wishing to see Rome! Thank you guys !!!

I loved my time staying at the Beehive Hostel. My twin room was nicer than a lot of hotels that I have stayed in and the hostel was spotless. The hostel are currently hosting a dinner every Tuesday evening which I attended and met some great people. Lauren who works at the hostel is a star. She's so friendly and gives time to the guests introducing them to each other and giving recommendations for places to eat and drink. The hostel had a friendly vibe and nice garden. This is a special place!

Highly recommend Beehive who is looking for a comfortable and homey feeling hostel to stay in! The hostel takes social distancing seriously with face masks being required in common areas and the bathrooms and rooms being spotless clean. It's not a party hostel and rather better for any one who wants a comfortable stay.

I was very glad to have found such a clean and affordable hostel in covid times. I felt safe and Linda, the host, was very helpful. The area around the hostel is not particularly beautiful but it’s close to the station that takes you all around the city. There were only 3 people there so don’t worry about keeping a safe distance when visiting this hostel.

One of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in, the staff are incredibly friendly. My only disappointment was the location - it was fairly far away from everything (around 45min walk). Then again, most the hostels are in that area so it’s quite hard to find a good location in Rome on a budget.

Nice place to stay. The kitchen was not clean but the bathrooms were. The location was far from the center. Good value for money.
