The Classic Courtyard was a really clean and quiet hostel with very helpful staff. They have a really cute sitting room with good air conditioning and wifi where I did work during the afternoons. The location is really convenient, near lots of restaurants and the Yonghegong subway. I highly recommend staying here. It is a good deal for the price.

Great location for seeing the sights of Beijing, also easy access to the MTR to get to the bus station or train station to see The Great Wall. Friendly staff; not far from restaurants; the Lama temple is a 2 minute walk away. Also great accommodation if you're seeing a concert at Tango Live.

Very neat courtyard style hotel. The staff were helpful and very nice and the location was good with some temples and restaurants close by. The only downside was it was a bit chilly in the winter as the small electric space heater can barely keep up, but not extremely uncomfortable for sleeping. Overall I would recommend it.

The Classic Courtyard is a perfectly-situated hostel that will put you right in the center of everything you want to see in Beijing. It's really great to stay in a classic hutong neighborhood, with lots of history and small shops nearby. Our only complaints would be that our room developed the sulfur smell (rotting eggs) from either the water in the ensuite bathroom or maybe the communal bathroom that was situated right outside our room. We alleviated this by opening the window!

The hotel is simple, trying to imitate a traditional courtyard. Mostly quiet, depending on your neighbors. 1. Location: excellent, near Yong he gong subway station, lines 2 & 5. Lots of busses. 2. Current condition of surrounding: Yong he gong street undergoing constructions, makes way from subway to hotel very crowded. 3. If your flight/train is in the evening and you want to spend the day in Beijing, there Is no place to leave your suitcase/bag. 4. Staff would not call a taxi for you

    Very Good

    29 Mar 2018
My private room bathroom door did not shut. The shower curtain was really really dirty and there was large patches of dirt on the walls. I'm not a picky person and would have been happy with just average cleanliness in the bathroom. Other than that, the place was really good. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way. The location is good. But unfortunately the cleanliness overshadows the fu experience. The hostel has so much potential, hopefully management makes the needed changes

Pros: Good location; several street food vendors, places to eat, subway and attractions all near by. Neutral: Cleanliness - get what you paid for. Cons: Lack of windows in the rooms is a major drawback. Absolutely no atmosphere at all; communal areas in fact were very limited.

The Classic Courtyard looked really nice in the photos. The lounge was quite nice and the location was very good, but I was disappointed with the quality of the rooms. The only window in my room was in the bathroom, which unfortunately looked out onto the hallway. The room itself smelled a bit mouldy, and the air conditioner looked old, and was thickly coated with dust. The floor was not clean, and the bathroom looked mouldy also. The bedsheets seemed fairly clean though, and the bed was comfy.

If you like sleeping Bring Ear Plugs! The walls are so thin that you can hear every word the person next door is saying, plus the cleaner from 8am outside. Big bed with en suite and it was clean. However it smelt like drains. I emailed twice in advance to ask how to arrive, and no reply. No apology when I arrived. (You can get airport express to dongzimmen then metro one stop, line 2, to lama temple.) Receptionist was polite but unhelpful. Better service needed to make this place welcoming.
