Overview

We want you to feel at home at The Dublin Central Hostel, so we've loaded the place up with super friendly staff, fresh linen and towels and loads of freebies to do just that! Fill up on toast and cereals from our free breakfast buffet and take your tea outside to our garden space. Once you've had your caffeine fix, come along on our free walking tour. As well as seeing the sights of the city, you can join in on different events like pub crawls around local craft breweries and whisky distilleries.

Location

To reach us from Dublin Airport, jump on bus 16 or 41 for 30 minutes to Phibsborough, Upper Dorset St where we're just a 2-minute walk away. From Connolly train station, take bus 1, 11, 13, 16 or 44 for 5 minutes, then walk about 20 minutes to our front door. The famous Temple Bar is a 20-minute stroll from us too, as is the Jameson distillery if you fancy a tour and tasting. To see what life was like for old Irish prisoners, Kilmainham Gaol is half an hour away – catch bus 40 to Emmett Road.

Rooms and Dorms

Our private rooms and shared dorms (female-only and mixed) are nice and bright with large, breezy windows. Each room has an en-suite bathroom too, with hot showers and hair dryers for hire if big hair is a must. Keep your backpacks and luggage safe in under-bed storage – just remember to bring a padlock to keep your locker secure.

Extras and activities

After a night in Temple Bar, opt for a chilled morning in our communal lounge. You can laze on the sofas to watch a film or make use of the free Wi-Fi. There's a foosball table here too – we say the loser has to make a round of free tea and coffee for everybody in the kitchen! We've also got laundry facilities on-site so you can freshen up your essentials if last night got a little wild.

My friend and I had a private room with en-suite, it was awesome! Fantastic location, a short walk to the Main Street of Dublin! Bus stop out the front and close to the airport bus stop! Really helpful staff, clean rooms! Would recommend staying here and I would stay again!

This was a perfect hostel to introduce my two teens to low-key overseas travel. We easily fit in the three-person private room, which includes a double bed and a single bed. The hostel's location made getting to early-morning bus pickups for day trips as easy as possible, with only a block or two to walk to the tour bus stops.

Nice little hostel in a good location. Pretty much empty when I was there (I had an 8 bed dorm to myself). Nice little kitchen, outdoor area, nice staff. Would stay again.

We absolutely loved staying here - this was our first trip to Dublin, my boyfriend and I are both students so wanted something central, accessible and affordable. The room was comfy, clean, hostel staff were very helpful and breakfast set us up well for the day. The location was ideal so we were able to walk everywhere and the bus transfer to and from the airport was very cost effective, saving us the expense of a taxi! Would recommend and will most likely come again!

I had a brief but great stay! I was in the all-female 8-bed dorm and found it clean, fresh, and comfortable! The staff was kind and flexible. The location was awesome - an easy straight-shot walk down O’Connoll and away from most of the noise of downtown. Great experience!

Very good location, friendly staff, perfect for our short stay in Dublin. Only downfall is that our room was next to the street so it was a bit noisy.

Not bad but not the most happening atmosphere. But, it's great value and has everything you need and a good location. Room was warm at night and bunk beds aren't the most comfortable. Leaving the window open produces a decent amount of noise from adjacent street. Complimentary continental breakfast in the morning was nice. Staff also friendly and provided great recommendations.

The price of the room did not reflect the quality at all. I understand it’s in a major city, however it’s not exactly central. It was liveable though, I would rate the staff higher but I hardly saw them so I couldn’t give a fair review. My biggest gripe would be that I made a booking of two rooms together at the same time but was given one in the basement and one on the top floor. The basement room was dank and Got all the noise and light from the garden all night. The blinds where not Adequate.

On check in to a private room we were given one key amongst 4!! This was such a pain as we were not always together. The room made me feel like I was living back in world war one it was beyond outdated. The sheets had blood on them. The room didn't even have a bin the light in the bathroom would encourage an epilictic fit. The shower was c**p too. If you're desperately looking for a place to stay, cancel your plans and don't consider this place please. Also a rip off for what we got, never again
