Lovely stay and very clean, great staff and very friendly. Rooms are a little bit dated but very clean bedding and would be back in future.

Best price for a private room I have seen. The woman running the hostel was very friendly and helpful. Some breakfast food is provided. It is about a 15 train ride from Manchester, but the train only comes about every hour. I enjoyed the small town vibe, but it might not be for everyone.

    Very Good

I think this place has learned from previous reviews. When I arrived, there was a clean towel waiting for me in the room and it was lovely and warm, as the heating had already been put on. There was an ensuite bathroom, but unfortunately the shower door wouldn't close properly. It needs fixing. The bed location wasn't ideal either, but I solved this after the first night, by pushing the head of the bed against the wall, so I wouldn't get a cricked neck again. Overall, good value for money.

Came here for one night as we were going to a gig at Heaton Park. I paid £70 for the night bigger room with private bathroom. When we got there the man in the bar was very welcoming showed us to our room and was fine. In our room we had one single bed and a double bed. The bottom of the bed was broken but wasn’t bothered by that as it was just somewhere to sleep. It wasn’t very clean lots of dust. Bed was fine quite comfy. But for one night it was fine. Probably wouldn’t come back though

As lodging it's not a place I would recommend to anyone to spend the night, unless you're rich, have low standards, and happen to be deaf. The room is wildly overpriced, even for one person. Sure they have beds and doors with locks, but everything is rather shoddy. In addition, they're open til very late most nights with an extremely bass-y jukebox paired with paper-thin walls. They also seem not to care about closing times, as there was a party that blasted music literally until dawn. No Sleep.

Overall the value for money is poor. The room was ample but very run down and amateurish repairs done. No toilet roll holder, no bins, and shower door could not be closed. On arrival no towels and no heating and when towels supplied one was marked with paint. The kitchen was not clean as the oven would have to be classified us unhygienic, the hot water tap could not work, the microwave unclean and the cutlery consisted of no forks and pots and pans limited. A basic breakfast of 2 cereals only

DISGUSTING. When they showed us the fridge was smelling so bad, was spilled milk inside from days or weeks.. we had to get out of the kitchen for the bad smell. Really expensive for what it is... A S** ! I wouldn't recommend it. Also, really far from center.

The room was over priced, I paid £45 for 2 beds and some toilet roll, there wasn't even soap or towels to wash/dry your hands after using the toilet. The wall paper was falling off and had been ripped off in places. Marks all over the carpet and walls and the music was blaring out until gone 1am. Hallways were dirty, broken glass in windows and the kitchen was awful too. This place should not attract anyone who has been blessed with the gift of sight and hearing. STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS
