Indy Hostel was a perfect waypoint in a long roadtrip, and I can imagine it also being a pleasant place to settle in for a longer stay. I actually didn't meet any staff during my stay - I was sent self check-in instructions before arrival which made for a hassle-free late night arrival. The hostel is in a large historic house in a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes off the highway; Foundation Coffee nearby was delicious. Cozy, clean, super comfy and large beds - what's not to love!

I loved the homely ambience. The common spaces below are beautifully decorated with artworks and I appreciated the large kitchen space for bringing in food. As a solo traveller, the surroundings felt safe and the close proximity to the bus stop was nice for going around the city.

I really enjoyed this space. I felt safe due to the area and by needing a code to ender the house, however there is nowhere to securely lock up your bags so I can see that being an issue for people. As stated in other reviews no staff is ever present but I didn't mind as it's clearly instructed on how to check in and find your room (among other rules/suggestions). I found the house to be very clean and cozy, there were only me and a couple others staying at the time.

Did not see any hostel staff during my 1 night stay, luckily there were some nice longterm guests that could tell how stuff is working. Thanks to these persons the place had a home-like feel. Indy hostel had good common areas so you could socialize with the other guests. Slept very well in my bed in the basement. Seems like some ongoing renovations in basement with paint buckets behind curtains etc. Parking felt a bit confusing. Kitchen run out of paper towels.

I came for a quick overnight trip. The location is great. It's in a quiet neighborhood but close to cool stuff to do in Broad Ripple. The common areas have great decorations. I love the reading nook! The bed was very comfortable and i appreciated the AC window unit. The only drawbacks- there are no lockers for a guest to secure their things. Also, the upstairs bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in some time and there was no soap in the dispenser. Otherwise, a nice place to stay!

A nice place, but in the middle of nowhere!! You need a vehicle to go anywhere at this location. There is a bus stop near by but the service is VERY SKETCHY! As I found out the hard way... Safe travels everyone!

This was my second hostel ever staying in and it lived up to its ratings. The atmosphere was very homey. I didn’t see any staff. However, the self check-in instructions made everything very easy.

The facility and location are pretty good. The only issue I have is that the shared male dorm is in the basement, which is unsafe for a myriad of reasons. Meanwhile, the shared female dorm is located on the second floor (one floor above the main/first floor). The basement area should be used for laundry or converted into a game room but not used for lodging and sleeping; too many things could go wrong (gas leak, flooding, moss/fungus inhalation, fire, etc. w/ no windows for adequate ventilation)

If they put in a bit of effort, it would drastically improve. The 6 room is just part of a 12 bedroom room just slightly sectioned off into 2 parts- misleading. The bathroom door in that room often locks from the inside and you have to go upstairs through the kitchen if you need to use the bathroom. Simple fix: remove the lock on the doorknob and add a sliding lock on the door. Beds weren’t cleaned for days after people left. Staff barely around. No free breakfast - lied there. Dead Atmosohere.

There was no staff. There were no towels in not even paper towels in bathroom. Room was not clean. No locks on doors. No security. No one was there except other guests. You couldn't pay me to stay there again.
