Solid hostel. Everything works, the only issue I had was not being able to connect to the wifi at times in the evening when it's busy. Atmosphere was lacking, but that's probably just the particular collection of people staying at the time.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, large areas to cook & relax both inside and out. I stayed in a private room, which was my first time doing so at a Hostel, and it was well worth the money. The room was perfectly sized with a large bed already with linens on it, two clean towels and hooks on the walls. Men's showers/toilets were in really good shape and clean! Great hostel overall!!

We enjoyed the Nook; there was a friendly vibe, great communal area and lots of space in the kitchen. Could do with a few more toilets ~ as there were a couple of occasions when we couldn’t get in. Staff could also be more friendly~ we did a bus tour with them up Mt wellington and the staff member said nothing the whole journey . Would be better doing a private informative tour as this was just a shuttle service. Would stay again!

Solid place to sleep, common area highly populated with smartphone-zombies. Bathrooms fairly clean and rather basic.

No lockers in the rooms. I ended up with a 14 person room which was necessary since there was no availability otherwise but was happy to have a place to rest. Def too many people for me. Location was walkable to stuff so no biggie there. I can’t speak to the smaller rooms but if the 14 person were the only option in Hobart, I probably wouldn’t go.

The hostel was taken over by new owners and they did not know they offered a deluxe room. This one is more expensive and has the bed prepared for you. We opted for this as we arrived late from a flight. Imagine our surprise when we got to our beds in a dorm around midnight with people already sleeping and having to make our own beds. It was fixed in the morning and got 10 dollars back for the two of us. But we picked this hostel for this and would have booked elsewhere if we had known.

If you're looking for a quiet place to stop in a night the nook may be for you. However if staying longer I would suggest staying elsewhere. The place is decidedly bland and the common area is largely silent populated by a group of people unwilling to talk to one another. In addition, the washroom and kitchen facilities leave room for improvement and were not clean, especially the showers. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere with some character.

Possibly the worst hostel I’ve ever seen. The staff were incompetent, couldn’t find me a key and made the whole check in experience very unpleasant. The rooms were cramped, there was no atmosphere, the mattresses were filthy with stains all over and I didn’t see anybody clean the bathrooms once which were very dirty. Do not stay here.
