Exceptionally clean, well-lit, spacious rooms, friendly, warm staff, massive and well-appointed cooking area, and located off the main street so it's quiet at night. I sprained my ankle doing a morning hike and spent the rest of the day in my room resting-it was one of the best days of the trip! I would return to Westport just to use this hostel again-I can't recommend it highly enough. I recommend extending checkin to 11-the last train arrives at 1030 and website says 11 pm, versus 10pm on site

We only had one night here... but it was Great. Right in the centre of Westport... where there is great countryside... superb Pubs with Trad Irish music. The hostel staff were really welcoming... it is a good clean safe environment. 2nd time we've stayed and would happily stay again

Staff was sweet and phenomenal. Location was very convenient and in the center of the small beautiful town. Easy to walk and buy groceries, have a drink at a pub, or walk the greenway. Bathrooms sucked. The showers are terribly built. There is nowhere to hang your items, clothes, towels, toiletries, etc. except the floor. There is no temp control for the water, you get what you get. The shower only stays on for 10 second increments, then you have to press the button again and again. Terrible.

Nice place to stay, generally gave off a weird-ish vibe but that's not really a specific complaint. Everything worked, our phones charged, breakfast was fine and we were able to sleep well for a night.Could be cleaner I guess, but I think that mostly the carpet flooring.

Notice on door to communal area said open to 10.30 pm. When I tried to make cup of tea a young male employee told me to leave as they closed at 10 pm. When I showed him the notice he tore it down. Another guest was on the middle of cooking food so why there was one rule for some and a different one for others I will never know. Most hostels openat 7.30 to facilitate early start for guests this one opens at 8am but next morning we were standing around waiting until 8.15.Walls paper so noisy.

Honestly not what I expected. There is no sense of privacy and the security is questionable. I did not feel safe there and the facilities I would not catergorize as nice at all. The shower temperture is not adjustable and it stays on for a good 5 seconds. I know it is cheap, but I have been to places that charge less but provide alot more. Not worth it for me.
