Arrived late didn’t have our beds and reception closed this was fixed in the morning by an amazing receptionist that we didn’t get the name of unfortunately (short silvery hair) she made our stay a good one helped with any problems we had quickly and made sure we where good with everything in the hostel. It was a little out of town but good tram system right out side the door of the hostel great location for the beach. It was filled with a lot of long term stays which they need to monitor more.

Good vibe, bunch of people staying long term. Close to the beach and park, short enough walk to the Chapel Street bar area

One of the more affordable hostels, loved the free pancakes for breakfast and free tea/coffee all day and pasta and rice. Great opportunity to meet lots of eccentric characters from all over the world. People tend to stay here long term (couple of months at a time) and tend to think they own the place by taking over the bedrooms. Can be quite loud at night and there are people drinking and smoking 24/7.

It was ok stay considering the price. the free wifi has the limit so you have to switch to your own data later on. The kitchen was clean and well-equipped and the staff there was friendly mostly except one guy reacted bitterly to me asking what his name is. Not like the best option in St. Kilda but I would consider returning here for my next trip to melbourne.

A great hostel for the price. Warning if you are booking for several people, it is not guaranteed that you will be staying in the same room. But we were able to move our friends in when other people in the room moved out.

nice place, great location but staff sucks except John. I booked an all female bedroom and they put me in a room with 2 other guys. Luckily the boys were really nice so I didnt say anything to reception until a few days after my stay. When I brought it to their attention, the guy at the reception was being sassy and rude because I didnt tell him sooner then claimed that I was supposed to check out 2 days before my actual check out date?? Staff is not informed and bad english. wont stay here EVER

Really loud hostel and people sitting and talking corridors late at night keeping people awake and no one on the desk overnight to be able to speak to. Beds, pillow and quilts are very old and uncomfortable. Blood stain on on sheet on our bed, Found bed bugs in room 107 and reception didn't seem to care, Atmosphere near dead as it's more for long stay, best thing is probably the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Wi-Fi is only up to 500 then you have to buy but fast & the breakfast is just pancakes.

Although the Hostel is well located near the sunny beach, the atmosphere from the guests was very chilly and hostile - it appeared a lot of the tenants were long staying & it made socialising difficult & uncomfortable. We felt as though we were intruding on them. There also seems to be a slight d*** problem in the area which means there are a lot of more difficult guests. B/c of this I would advise against for 1st time travellers, like us.
