Property Description

One minute from alighting the train, 15 minutes from Inverness airport, and nestling in the vibrant and modern Highland capital of Scotland, is a true delight, a friendly, welcoming, real Scottish hotel of magnetic character and charm. And Inverness hotels just don’t come more central than this.

Guests savor two feasts here: the unmistakable hospitality and classical culinary experience of this grand hotel - and the freedom of one of the least crowded parts of Western Europe coupled with the enormous appeal of vibrant Inverness, leisure and business capital of the Highlands of Scotland as an outstanding destination base from which to enjoy and savor a veritable kaleidoscope of activities, great shopping, touring and sightseeing opportunities which surround and abound.

This hotel makes it perfect for short breaks and weekend breaks in Inverness (including these ‘inevitable’ highland shopping breaks), business travel to Inverness, touring Loch Ness, visiting the Grampians and their great castle and whisky trails, and Cairngorms National Park. The wonders of Skye and Lochalsh beckon, as well as the delights of Caithness and Sutherland, with world class golf at Royal Dornoch and Brora (and east of the city at Nairn too), and that special lure which enticed Madonna to have her wedding here in Scotland.

Rest assured that you'll receive a warm welcome. Come and stay with us and appreciate why the hotel is earning such a good reputation. You'll soon wonder why you've never stayed before.

Excellent location in town centre next to railway station and 2 minutes walk from bus station and shopping centre. All staff were helpful. Breakfast room staff were particularly pleasant and gave great service. Ash restaurant, bar and hotel lounge were very comfortable. Staircase is an amazing feature and makes the hotel look very grand. The rooms are clean and well equipped with a safe, trouser press, ironing board and a very handy fan. The old windows let the room down otherwise a great hotel

Hotel royal highland, is the best place to be if anyone ever goes to Inverness. It is located aptly, just beside the railway station, in front of the old Victorian market and minutes away from all the eating joints. I wouldn’t have wished for any other place ! The ambience is delightful, it is very well maintained, the staff is courteous and very friendly. The rooms were spacious, tidy and were well equipped. There is nothing a traveller can complain about the property.

A rather grand old hotel... a little shabby in places but this adds to urs charm. A beautiful old building with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty and a good variety of choice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Inverness and the location of being literally next to the train station is an added bonus!

Although we only spent one night it was very comfortable. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent location for those travelling into and out of Inverness by train. It is right next door to the station. It's a cosy and comfortable hotel. I've stayed here several times and have always been pleased with the accommodation. The beds are comfortable and the rooms spotlessly clean.

Beds to close together. Room more like a single with 2 beds pushed in. I booked a twin room. Sour milk in the room cracks in walls. Window wedged open by curtain. Breakfast not included so an added extra. I had just done the north coast 500 and very sad to say this was the mist expensive but also the most disappointing hotel we stayed in on our tour.
