Booked in for 1 night with my grandson for his birthday. Twin room was spotlessly clean, as we're towels supplied. The room was warm with plenty of lights. The toiletries provided was a night touch as was the hairdryer.

Lovely old fashioned hotel, with proper door keys to rooms. Liked that touch. Staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Was verY convenient for train station and taxis which was ideal for me Cannot really comment on atmosphere and facilities as I was only there for one night arriving there around 8pm and leaving again by 8.30 am so can’t comment. Only thing missing was being unable to get a meal on arrival but due to current restrictions this was not the hotels fault.

We loved the old style hotel with friendly service. We appreciated being able to store our luggage while away for three days

    Very Good

Very convenient location- RIGHT next to the train station. The staff for breakfast were so nice! But the WIFI was spotty throughout the hotel and didn't work at all in my room. There was a sign saying WIFI was out due to weather but it was beautiful and sunny the day I arrived and barely drizzled the next day. The overnight clerk was honest and straightforward about the WIFI, the morning clerk tried to convince me I just had a bad room (despite the sign). Additionally, my toilet did not flush.

This is a lovely old building right next to the station - beautiful entrance lobby and staircase give it real wow factor! The staff are great and really helpful and the rooms are full of Victorian grandeur. On the downside housekeeping isn;'t the best and breakfast is crazily expensive and the hotel pricey for what it offers

Not a great experience. Hotel staff were very rude and judgemental during my stay. I travelled here as a solo backpacker and was treated differently than other guests. Hotel is very expensive looking and the price reflects that. Walls were thin and you were able to hear every noise from the floor. Security was good so I felt safe. Hotel is besides the station. No chance to use social spaces unless you spend money. Would not recommend if you’re traveling solo. Go somewhere else more welcoming.

    - Having booked two weeks in advance I arrived late on a Monday night to check-in. Unfortunately, the receptionist was having none of it in spite of me showing a confirmation email, and I was turned away. - Having moved my final night to the end of the week, when checking back in I was told I had been a no-show for the night I had moved. - I was informed I had an extra payment of around £40 to make as I’d been charged incorrectly earlier in the week… in fact, I had made the full payments needed

The reception staff really put a damper on my trip here unfortunately. Both on arrival and departure. They seem really uninformed to the Covid guidelines and I'd really encourage disability awareness training.

He place is cool to stop in and take some photos. They have a very clear aesthetic.. think The Shining meets pop art. There was no WiFi in the rooms and the windows didn’t seal shut so there was a draft and excess noise. If you’re looking for a hostel I’d go down the street to the Waverly Guest House
