It’s a place where there's a great opportunity to connect with a collective bunch of feel-good people looking for a dose of health, inspiration, good vibes and good times. The Salty Pelican is a lifestyle, a place where like minded new friends connect, eat great food and practice daily yoga… We love what we do here and employ people who thoroughly enjoy their jobs.

The Salty Pelican surf and yoga retreat sits snuggled between the sun-dappled shores of Cascais bay and Sintras dramatic mountain range. Cascais renowned for its glorious stretch of white sandy beaches which are simply stunning, beautiful palaces, cosmopolitan vibrancy and as Lisbons most sophisticated beach destination. Perfect. Sitting there, sipping on a galao, Portugal’s version of a café latte, you can limit yourself to thinking nothing but good thoughts.

Hi, The Salty Pelican is AWESOME. If going solo you will make so many friends here so don't be worried. The owners and staff create a great atmosphere/environment to socialise have fun and the (BBQ nights and TAPAS nights are savage). The activities are great and take place in great settings such as the sunrise yoga and surfing. I spent 11 days here which when I first arrived I though maybe a week would have been enough. The time flew by and I have never been as sad to be leaving a place.

Booked for 9 nights and stayed for 12. Amazing hostel with super friendly staff. Activities are well run and food top notch. You have the tendency to forget about time and the usual distractions in life. Left feeling I was part of the family - will be back again next year.

This was one of the best hostel experiences I've had. The staff were amazing, so friendly, and helpful beyond belief. You will truly feel like you are at home, surrounded by a great community of people. There are a lot of activities to join in on and accommodations that you can't find anywhere else. As a solo, female traveler, I felt safe here and felt that my things were also safe. I will surely be back and hope to meet up with everyone soon!

Wonderful and super peaceful hostel, big outdoor space, and a short walk from the nearest beach. No yoga at this time as there were only a very few people staying understandably, but a great place to chill out for a few days and chat to the other few guests staying.

Great, exclusive, villa-like hostel with lot of activities and good, active atmosphere and great people. Nice healthy breakfast with fruits and chia seeds :) The location is in a suburb 20minutes walk from Cascais, but the area felt very safe. Lot of activities to fill your days with and treat yourself, however note that they cost extra (10-35eur) unless you're doing a "retreat package". This makes the hostel very expensive (only brekkie is included in the basic price per night).

Villa-like hostel with a chilled out atmosphere. Perfect for a yoga-surf retreat getaway. Delicious healthy breakfast included and cultural, sport and evening activites organized for extra payment. Bulding is a 'beach house'-styled villa with a garden and spacious bathrooms. However the hostel is expensive and locates slightly off the beaten track in a quite neighbourhood 20-30min walk away from the Cascais center, main beaches and sights, 10min to the nearest train station just bfr Cascais.

    Very Good

We booked a 4 bed female room and once there found out a 50 yo man was also staying in our room. It was a mistake, but instead of moving him to a mixed bedroom, they moved us to a 8 beds room, which to me seems pretty unfair. The hostel itself was wonderful, but our stay was not very satisfactory.

This is a lovely place to stay in Cascais. Clean and bright, with a beautiful breakfast included! Be aware though that if you’re not doing the retreat, it’s very expensive to join in on the activities offered eg. yoga

The hostel is housed in a family house. IThiygh nicely painted in pretty colors, it’s packed to the brim. There’s no space to breathe the lovely fresh air as one stares right into the eye of the sleeper opposite one. The inside common room is dark and too small and the kitchen area is pokey and narrow. Too many customers are packed into this space. The hostel is walking distance but far from the beach. A disappointing choice.
