The Tent was the absolute highlight of my backpacking trip! It’s where I met the most amazing people and ate/drank comfortably. The fact that some people return to live there every summer should say something for sure! The 17 is such a convenient tram to take from the Tent to Central station and down to the city to see the sights. The staff was pleasant and kind. Everything was affordable. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Had a pretty amazing experience. This hostel is completely different from the others. They have huge tents with bunk beds. Since they do not have heaters, they provide enough blankets. Other basic facilities are there too such as Biergarten (0.5l = 2.5 euros, 1l= 5 euros excluding pfand), Free wifi, games and sports (basketball, table tennis and more). It is located in a peaceful locality of Munich.

This hostel is basically summer camp for adults. You've got cheap beer, food onsite, a bonfire, hammocks, the works. You're also sleeping in one of two tents with a bunch of other people, but you're gonna appreciate them contributing body heat to the room on cold mornings. Facilities are great and kept clean. Bring ear plugs if you have trouble sleeping with noise. Location requires at least one transfer and about 30 minutes to get to center of town. Highly recommended if you like the outdoors.

    Fabulous

The tent is an awesome place to stay. Obviously you're staying in a large shared dorm, so take it with a grain of salt, but the cleansiness and security was better than I expected. The common area is massive here, so theres always space to be on your own. At night everyone hangs out near the fire pit and there is a great sense of community. Great place to meet lovely people. The staff are also extremely nice and down to earth. A must stay when in Munich.

Location is not great but it’s a camping hostel so you should expect that. All of the reviews are true. This place is fantastic and it’s so easy to meet people and just hang out. They also have a camp fire every night and sing campfire songs.

Quite a cool place but so hard to get any kind of sleep when you're sharing a room with that many people.

It is definitely different from any other hostel. They have a kitchen to cook or reasonably priced meals to purchase. Volleyball and basketball and a campfire to hang out. Plenty of clean bathrooms and showers. I’m not sure how often they change the sheets. They told us they go around daily, but there’s no way to tell which beds were slept in. They have lockers, but our locks didn’t work on them. Double check yours works before leaving your things in them. Good price.

The reception staff were lovely, however those behind the bar were rude and made me feel uncomfortable. The sheets and blankets don’t seem as if they’ve been washed in the last year at least. Otherwise, a fairly enjoyable hostel! Same noise level as a smaller room, good facilities for those on a longer trip (guest kitchen, wash room) and decent bathrooms. Wouldn’t stay again due to the location as it isn’t ideal for short stays (and also the few rude staff who let the team down).
