Looking for a place with a super-friendly vibe in the centre of Dublin? You’ll find that here at The Times Hostel - College Street. We love to socialise, and our free walking tours usually get guests talking – if not, you're bound to bond over our nightly bar crawls that introduce you to the legendary Irish pub scene! We lay on a ton of free stuff, too, like free ice cream on Mondays, free wine and cheese on Tuesdays and free dinner on Wednesdays! so we think you'll love hanging out in our lounge to bond with other travellers over a movie.

Location

We’re on Dublin’s College Street overlooking Trinity College, so the city's best bits are within walking distance. For starters we’re just 3 minutes' walk from the Irish Whiskey Museum. Grafton Street, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Dublin's cultural quarter (so...Temple Bar!) are all a short stroll away. The cheapest way to reach us from the airport is by bus, so hop on the 16 and get off at D'Olier Street. We’re a 2-minute walk from there.

Rooms and Dorms

Our rooms have wooden floors, high ceilings and large windows so they feel bright and spacious. You can go for the full hostel experience in a shared or female-only dorm, or couple up in a private double or twin room. Whichever you choose, all have en-suite bathrooms, lockers and free sheets. There's free Wi-Fi on tap and plenty of USB sockets too to keep your devices juiced up.

Extras and activities

The friendly team at our 24-hour reception is here to make you feel welcome – they’ll book tours and organise airport shuttles. Every morning, tuck into a free breakfast and help yourself to free tea and coffee throughout the day. Lining your stomach before a big night out? Put a pizza in the oven in our fully equipped kitchen and get the party started with the common room’s sound system. And the next day? Retreat to our lounge for a good movie.

Slightly expensive but location was great. Difficult to find without a phone. No locks on the closet door for large suitcases but there are smaller lockers for valuables. Overall good.

Beds Sucked! I could feel the metal springs! Swithed beds on 2nd night only to have a cone in the middle of the bed forcing you to sleep on the left or right. There needs to be a back up bathroom in the hall for when suite bathroom is taken as it was by an inconsiderate Argentina women! Personally I would not stay here again.

In heart of city but no as such common place to hangout in the hostel. Building is bit compact and not that good but average.

Note that the stairs can be difficult to manoeuvre if you have heavy luggage. Staff were helpful and the location is great, but the rooms are nothing special. Beds are creaky and the shower in our bathroom didn't drain properly so you had to take turn the water off now and again during a shower to make sure it didn't flood. Aside from location, value for money was so-so. Very spartan accommodation.

I think the best part was the location. It was so close to everything. The only downside is that it was really loud at night, due to its proximity to Temple Bar. The free breakfast was also great. That’s about it. The pillows were awful and you could feel all the springs in the mattress. It also had a mildew smell going into the stairway. The staff was nice but a little clueless if you tried to ask them about the town. Overall, it was fine for what I needed it for but I wouldn’t stay again.

Perfect location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only common area to mingle was the kitchen/dining room. This hostel was not clean. Bathrooms were gross. The floor was filthy, shower was dirty, there is ZERO ventilation in the rooms and the bathrooms, mold is beginning to grow on the ceilings of the bathroom. Linens were not changed after a woman (with very stinky feet) left, and the next woman who arrived could smell the previous woman’s foot odor all over her sheets and blanket.
