Overview

Experience the real buzz of Amsterdam when you stay at The White Tulip Hostel. We’re in the Red Light District on the city’s busiest street for bars and coffee shops. Get to know other travellers over drinks in our ground-floor Irish pub: it's two-for-one on Heineken during our daily happy hour. If you're here to party, you can drink in the bar until 3am on the weekend or join one of our pub crawls. Our reception stays open 24/7 (with night security) to welcome you home.

Location

We're easy to find, just a 5-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station which runs trains to and from Schiphol Airport every 10 minutes until 1am. Oude Kerk is 2 minutes away, and you can stroll round Amsterdam's medieval city centre De Wallen (5 minutes away) at your own pace, dropping in at a Dam Square café for a spot of people watching. We have bikes to hire too so you can pedal at a leisurely pace alongside the canals. To find your way in the city's maze of streets, join us on a free walking tour.

Rooms and Dorms

We have both shared dorms and private rooms to suit solo travellers, couples or groups of mates. We make sure they're all clean, and we provide bed linen and towels for free and hairdryers for hire (so there's room in your bag for more shoes). Our lockers are perfectly sized to fit your backpack – just remember to bring a padlock.

Extras and activities

First time in the Dam? Our friendly staff will be on hand to point you in the right direction with free maps and lots of tips. Good news if you’re on a budget: we offer 15% discount on all food and drinks in the bar. There’s a terrace just for smokers and vending machines for midnight snacks. Free Wi-Fi means you can keep the folks at home updated on your adventures too!

Nice friendly helpful staff. Beautifull efficient showers. Its not the place you can judge fairly as it all depends on what kind of room mates your sharing a room with. but all in allyou get what you pay for and for what money I paid I'm satisfied with what I got and I would recommend The White Tulip to friends, as a nice temporary stop over Hostel while in Amsterdam Yours SincereL

No kitchen, no microwave, the shower was no good because it was difficult to regulate the temperature, the winter blanket was not enough long to cover your feet, so I had to take another blanket, they need to improve this

    Fabulous

It was our first time staying in a hostel and the staff were really friendly! The only problem I had with it is thy the beds were really cramped together and there was no curtain on the bed so you had no privacy whatsoever. There was constant noise but the location was great with a short walk to the station and lots of nightlife around.

The position is perfect, in the center surrounded by small restaurants and shops and close to the station. It is a fun way to meet new people. Smells like weed 24/7. You get what you are paying for, but we had no problems and was overall a pretty nice experience. Be careful if you have a big luggage because there are lot of stairs

    Very Good

    07 Oct 2020
It has a good location, very close to the train station. Also, it's located very close to the canals and good coffee shops and bars. Keep in mind it is located in the middle of the red light district, so lots of noises from the crowd outside during the night. It lacks a kitchen and common area though. If you are planning to stay longer in Amsterdam that counts a lot. If you are spending a few days (2-3 for example) it good enough.

The location was great Between the station and center the staff were really nice and helpful. The only problem was the cleanliness the facility wasn’t clean enough . I prefer if there were small kitchen or fridge in the hostel but in general it was good for me

It has the very advantage of being in the center, but otherwise I was really disappointed : it's not so clean, we called to know if they could keep our bikes before the reservation and they said yes though they couldn't when we arrived, and there is very few facilities offered
