Nice place, literally the only hostel in the area with some level of night life and atmosphere. Activities and atmosphere are good. Food and facilities are good but not extraordinary

    - If sleeping in and cleaning crew come in, they will have a normal conversation (not whisper), despite being able to see that you are sleeping. - Otherwise, friendly staff, especially bar staff. - Dish washing sink does not have hot/warm water. - Only one toilet outside of dorm (and only one bathroom/toilet in 8 people dorm). - Lockers have a 4-digit PIN, easy to change on each use. Staff have master key if you forget PIN. - Dorm door does not auto lock. - Nice small light & plug by each bed.

Overall nice hostel. The price is a bit high though. However, compared to another hostel I stayed in Bacalar, the Yak Lake was definitely cleaner and had nicer facilities and beds.

Loved the yak lake house! Rooms and facilities are pretty basic, breakfast is really good, can hire kayaks/do the paddle board tours or boat tours with the hostel which makes it super sociable. The bar is super cheap, very much enjoyed our stay.

Very nice hostel, the showers and toilets could be cleaner, other than that it's perfect and in my opinion the best place to stay in Bacalar

Stayed in mixed form for 4 people, nice and big room with private bathroom. Atmosphere is nice to chill out but not if you want to party. Cost twice more than any other hostel but don’t really know if it is really worth it...

The place is amazing, rooms are clean and good but what a bad first impression. Guy we met should be taught to be humble. First he said our room was double booked so we either had to pay for a better one or stay in doorms. Then he said we booked two nights and not one so we had to pay both even though we only stayed one. I showed two confirmations of my booking and we eventually got our room but he never apologized even though he could see we got irritated of the attitude and trouble

    Very Good

Nice hostel although a little bit expensive for not great facilities. Plug kept falling out of socket so difficult to charge phone and the ceiling was very low on top bunk so I banged my head on a wooden beam, which is a health and safety issue. Activities were really great and the hostel has a nice vibe and great location in Bacalar. Probably the best hostel to stay in Bacalar for the time being!

    Very Good

Arrived late after a long day of travel and was greeted by a pretty grumpy guy on reception. The morning reception staff were a lot more friendly and answered all our questions about the lagoon tour. We booked the morning tour with Gaia and it was amazing! Definitely would recommend. Room was cramped but opened right onto the deck for sunrise. all in all not bad for one night’s stay!
