Cozy place with very friendly staff. There is recent construction around the place right now, and it's not luxurious by any means, but it suits perfectly to hike the TLG on the next day. We left our stuff there and it was safe and secure on our return. The bus back from the other end stopped for us...very routine for them i'm sure. Some reviewers mentioned all sorts of critters--rats, roaches, bedbugs... we saw none.

A lovely guesthouse tucked inside a secret courtyard. Friendly owner Jane can tell you everything you need to know. She has a restaurant on site which was delicious and her breakfasts are HUGE so a great way to start the trek. Would highly recommend staying here.

A great place to stay in to start the journey off for the T.L.G. very relaxed atmosphere, lots to choose from on the menu, and they seemed to have everything but tuna on there. Really friendly and helpful staff. I would personally go back there.

There wasn’t a lot happening here when I visited, but it’s a very relaxed and cool place to stay before starting your trek in the gorge. You can leave your large bag here too and pick it up on the way back out of the gorge which is a life-saver.

Jane's guesthouse is right at the beginning of the trail. An excellent place to get an early start before the crowds arrive :) The place has a really nice vibe to it and there are some nice restaurants nearby. The guy in charge of the place didn't speak any English, but seemed like a nice person. There was some rodent (maybe) making some noises during the night in the ceiling. I'm quite use to this kind of stuff coming from the countryside, so I didn't think much of it :)

This property was closed for the season when we arrived. They allowed us to stay since we had reservations. However, there were no services of any kind. We were able to get cups from the common area for tea(which we brought) and soap from another room. There was hot water for a shower. They allowed us to store our bags while we hiked the Gorge but the room was not secure. They were not there when we came back for our bags. Someone with a Chinese phone helped us contact them. We did get our bag

No one was there to check me in. The hot water did not work. When the owner showed up he seemed angry that I was there and had no record of my reservation. He would only accept cash though the usual currency in China is WeChat. No one was there in the morning to check me out. But, it was cheap and located at the trailhead. Mind you the nicer places I stayed along the trail were even cheaper.

DO NOT EVER STAY AT JANES GUESTHOUSE!! No matter what anyone says! This place is filthy and looks like an absolute dumpster, like its been abandoned. The only staff there left between 5:30 and 8:30pm to have his dinner which meant none of the guests staying there could order anything from the guesthouse. Dorm room is gross, dirty sheets with dead bugs and moths, dust everywhere- ive never felt so uncomfortable in any guesthouse before. Bathroom is also disgusting! Heard rats at night!
