Tikal backpackers is run by friendly, welcoming, helpful staff! They have created wonderful atmosphere for hanging out, great food, filtered water available and in a great location within the town of Flores. Air con in the room, hot water for the showers. Would stay again!!

Great hostel in Flores. No wifi in dorms but clean facilities. Breakfast is included.Easy checkin and dorms have small lockers for small valuables like phones etc - bigger lockers downstairs. Hot showers which is a bonus. Located in the middle of Flores - it was 10Q from the bus terminal to just over the bridge to the love sign- just get dropped here as it’s a 2 min walk to the hostel. Otherwise it’s 15Q to the door. They offer tours and shuttle but I booked with Getaway Tours!Would stay again!

Really enjoyed our stay in Tikal Backpackers. The staff were so sound and the bar and food were top notch! Only complaint is the 6 bed dorm was very crowded and stuffy. Fans may be better than the A/C unit which didn’t offer much in terms of cooling the room down. Don’t let this stop you though, love it otherwise!

It's cheaper to book in person instead of via the website. Hostel has good facilities. There's a weird triple bunk

Nice enough place, the beds are comfy (some have plastic covering on...Ugh) our aircon was really ineffective and wasn't so much fun for 6 of us in the room. Could do with privacy curtains on the dorm beds. Breakfast is underwhelming and if you get there late it's grim. The location is spot on and the tours are pretty good value! It's a good place to chill, most people keep themselves to themselves, would be nice if people were a bit more sociable. Hostel itself is cool and the owner is lovely!

The dorm room only had 1 aircon between 6 beds and would only turn on after 8pm and was so weak it wasn’t doing anything. There was no windows or ventilation so the room always smelt bad due to the toilet inside the room which also had no window or fan for ventilation. Wifi was terrible and would occasionally work in the common area and never in the rooms.

The hostel was good enough but not quite sure why it has the high rating. I didn’t go up to the rooftop and maybe that’s where the good vibes are, but the bar/restaurant was very empty while I was there and I had a lot more fun drinking at Los Amigos and doing their insane sunset boat trip

The toilets weren’t very clean and smelt very bad so the rooms also had a very bad smell. The beds were very uncomfortable the mattress was extremely thin and the springs were digging into me all night, even my pillow was lumpy- we were in the 6 bed dorm. The towels also seem like they need to be replaced as they had turned grey and had stains all over them. The shower was also like a high powered hose. Fine for a night, but would probably go somewhere else if you can.

No atmosphere, rooms are very small with lots of beds(3 stories bed bunks in 9 beds dorm) so its very crowded and hot even with A/C which hardly works.Breakfast was probably suckiest thing I have seen in my life.Oatmeal thats only milk whats up with that.If you want to refill water its 3Q and dont take rides or tours from there as they are super overpriced.Just go to tour agiencies around town and book it for almost half that price.Overall we all agreed it was a s****y hostel.
