We had a nice stay in the hostel, perfect location in the old center, it is not really cheap, but I guess it's because of the location. The check in was easy and the man there was very friendly and helpful. He helped getting our clothes dry and gave us useful tipps for visiting Mull. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. The bulding is old, and so is the furniture, the bathrooms are quite small. But it was no problem for us, since we only stayed for one night. Thank you!

It's a lovely place to stay at with friendly staff. The only issue was that the shower wasn't working at the time, but other than that I had no problems.

I enjoyed the hostel. We had people paying top dollar to stay in small rooms up the hill while we were right on the water. Kitchen and living room has everything you need. Beds are comfy. Dorms are separated male female but not a big deal. Plenty of space to sit. Was quiet at night. Easy access to main street.

It is very expensive for quite a basic hostel - for example the breakfast - I can't remember exactly how much it cost but it was poor quality and left on the side in the same area as those making their own food and we had to wash up in that same tiny kitchen/eating area. Facilities for overnight bike storage were also limited - it is a brilliantly positioned youth hostel - perhaps city hostels could subsidise it but it needs to be thought about cleverly and sympathetically and marketed better.

The warden/manager was a great guy in 2019, really helpful. The facilities & decor are very shabby. The lack of en-suite toilet & shower in a Private Room is bizarre in the 21st-C. It’s also VERY expensive for a private room, ir should be about £30-40 otherwise Hotels can be better value. I don’t understand why very popular Tobermory has such a shabby Youth Hostel in a Scottish premium location, whilst Lochranza has a MUCH better hostel.
