This is the second time I stayed here. It’s a really good hostel. You have enough space in the room, the bathroom was close to the room, and everything is so clean! As said last time, the staff is also very friendly and helpful!

Amazing Hostel! Very clean, helpful staff and cool events such as Pub Crawl, Karaoke Night etc. It is expensive, but San Francisco is expensive in generel. Therefore, you get good value for your money here.

We had a wonderful stay at USA hostels. Centrally located, it's only a few blocks down from Union Square. The only issue I had is it borders right on the Tenderloin neighborhood, which I wouldn't suggest walking around by yourself. We did go down that way once, and was a little unsettled, but in all honesty, no one even acknowledged us. Homelessness is a major issue all through SFO, so keep that in mind. Hostel itself had nice events you could join in, such as walking tours and pub crawls.

I guess that was the worst hostel I’ve ever been to. The room was dark and awful! The atmosphere in hostel was zero to none! There was nothing that I did like about this place. Beds awful, the wiring in hostel are old and exposed, some of the plugs didn’t work and an extension was used. Basically the standards were so low, don’t know if it is SF factor or else! make sure you choose the right room The price was definitely not worth the place

USA Hostels San Francisco says

Besides being located only a few blocks from the cable cards and Powell Street (which is kind of the heart of the city), what makes our location special is two main things - staff and facilities. Many of our staff have been with us for years and really do enjoy helping guests come to love San Francisco as much as they do. Our staff know all the great, off-the-beaten path places to go and are happy to share their local secrets.
And for guests choosing to 'hang out' at the hostel, there are a variety of places within the building where they can get comfortable. If they need alone time, all our dorms feature 'privacy pods', an exclusively-designed addition to each bed that features a light, shelf, outlet and screening from other guests. Or, they can hide away in our quiet library and catch up on reading. If they are craving a movie, we have a 50-seat theatre. If they're ready to mingle, we have a large lounge with pool and foosball tables.
We're suited for guests of all flavours and ages, groups of up to 50 people, long-haul resting stops, weekend getaways and students - we even have a student residence on the top two floors! Brigit, COO
