We had a fab stay week 1-4 July. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the bathrooms were adequate, kitchen full of all the modern appliances and plenty of storage in the fridges and shelves for dry food. The location was ace. The drying room was a decent size and the bike storage was secure. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Tom. He gave us some advice on hill walking. It was much appreciated. Local knowledge is the best. Thanks for a great stay. I'll be back!

Scottish youth hostels are normally excellent but this one has been my favourite. Clean, spacious and set in a stunning location - right by the seafront. Has all the amenities you want - helpful staff, a large kitchen, decent wifi, clothes washing facilities and lots of local information for hill walkers. Really enjoyed my stay, would highly recommend it for people exploring the surrounding mountains of Ullapool and Assynt.

Loved the hostel and the people .....BUT to have them shut and lock the building up from noon until 4.30p.m. every day ... well not every guest goes hiking and climbing all day. Simply not convenient on a rainy afternoon to trail around Ullapool with nothing much to do and not be able to even get in to get a cup of tea and read in comfort. Big disappointment.

I've stayed at +10 UK remote countryside YHAs so far and every time I found these places visited by super antisocial people. Being in a far far tiny village, after spectacular hiking you expect your dorm mates to have exciting stories, but no one is interested. Not even a modest hello in the dorms. Scotland is way too beautiful, but none of the SYHAs were any fun. If you expect some social vibes don't look for it here, go to the city hostels. I don't think I want to stay at a UK YHA anymore.

Nice hostel, lots of good facilities. Kitchen large and well equipped and large dining room and a drying room. There was a midnight curfew which seemed a little bit overzealous and wasn’t mentioned prior to booking as far as I can remember.
