Property Description

Camping…either you love it or hate it! Right?! You probably hate it because of bad weather and wet underwear. But love it because it is a cosy, fun, affordable and social experience. Well, at Urban Camper Copenhagen Hostel we have taken all that cool stuff from camping and removed the uncool stuff and created an indoor urban campground where you camp in large tents indoors. It's the ideal camping situation to be honest.

At Urban Camper Hostel you can sleep, eat, drink, party, play and meet new friends in the heart of Copenhagen's coolest neighbourhood, Nørrebro (actually it is the world's coolest neighbourhood according to timeout.com). We are a brand-new, never-seen-before hostel concept that focuses on sustainability, affordability and we have a dream of bringing people from all over together and creating life-lasting friendships and memories.

Come join us in the bar where you can meet both locals and other travellers during our daily Happy Hour and have fun with a game of pool or shuffleboard. Urban Camper Hostel offers a laid-back, green, social atmosphere inspired by the South American jungle and the concrete streets of the city. The hostel is the perfect base for any urban traveller keen to get off the beaten track and explore the real Copenhagen.

We are located just a stone's throw from Nørrebro Metro Station, the perfect link between you and the exciting sights of Copenhagen and connecting you with the international airport and central bus station.
During your stay with us, we provide free WiFi, free linen and towel and a free, simple breakfast.

Loved it and will be back, loads of toilets and showers always available, clean and modern too. Fantastic common area and amazing staff who made everything easy. Free breakfast was perfect to start the day. Tents had good sized lockers, beds were great, just go into it expecting it to get a little warm and noise to carry but you aren’t paying hotel prices.

A clean place with a good atmosphere- easy to meet people if you want to, just as easy to have your own space. A good base to explore the city by bike!

I loved my stay here! The tents were cosy, it's the first hostel where it genuinely felt cosy and homely. It felt secure with a key card for the floor, but the tents had nothing. There were lockers though. The showers were good, and the WiFi. No kitchen was a shame, but free breakfast and cheap pies were decent. There was pool and shuffleboard so the common room was a good place to be. All in all, I would recommend and would stay here again, great value for money!

    Fabulous

Easily accessible from public transportation. Facilities were nice, but tent would get warm at night with little airflow. Tent material wasn't very soundproof so you could hear your neighbors snoring or chatting through the night. Bathrooms were nice and clean and staff very friendly.

    Fabulous

This is a slightly quirky and well run hostel. Still haven't decided how I feel about the indoor tent setup but the biggest downside is the lack of kitchen and guest only lounge area. In an expensive city like Copenhagen a kitchen is necessary for Backpackers and many that I spoke to didn't even realise it didn't have one until they arrived. The bar is really nice but harder to meet people in when it's open to the public and busy. Because of these reasons I can't really recommend.

Good hostel with a nice common area and bar with happy hour. I think the hostel would benefit from hosting hostel events for people to meet especially if travelling solo. The facilities were good but no kitchen - though you can bring food to the bar so it was alright.

Nights were ok, poor breakfast (white bread, jam, ham and cheesecake, Thalys All) and localised at the extremity of Nørrebro, so ca. 4 km walking from the city center. A bit far if you like to discover the city by foot. You can rent bikes (not the cheapest one and lights were not functioning well but easy to have them on site) to ride around the city, which is very nice. Would also be nice to have multiple sorting trash in the common area (I had to go to second floor to find one).

Great hostel to stay in for the location and price!! Loved the free breakfast and included amenities. But the tents got very hot at night and the bathrooms were a little gross every time I went to them. I would stay here again just for a night if needed and passing through Copenhagen! But the tent heat was intense in August.

    Good

Good location, the bar area is fun with lots to do. However, I after 4 nights I was covered in 40+ bites, which I strongly suspect were bed bugs, since neither of my 2 friends were bitten once in the same room. Also, whilst the tent idea is cool, they were very hot to sleep in, even when it was fairly cold outside. Otherwise it was fine. I've been to many hostels and never had a bed bug bite before, so I'm very disappointed by this, and not what you expect in Copenhagen.
