I couldn't be happier with Foley Towers. The hospitality is so welcoming my time there was like being with extended family. toilet and shower were shared but private and right outside the room. wonderful communal kitchen and dining, laundry room, beautiful central garden and very secure grounds. I found the location convenient enough to get to my destinations, only a 10-15 minute walk to central. This is my go to whenever i'm in Christchurch and i'm looking forward to my next visit, Thank You.

Clean hostel in a good location. Seems to be a lot of long term stayers so very quiet which was nice. Christchurch hasn't got an amazing nightlife, so the quietness suited. Kitchen was large and we'll equipped and clean. The bathrooms were also clean as well. Overall I'd stay again

    Very Good

The dorm room was good and it was nice that lockers were provided. The communal kitchen was absolutely filthy though - the microwave was caked in food and the benches/tables were dirty and wet.

Staff was super unfriendly and the toilets were smelly, there was urine all over the floor. Worst experience so far almost! Would ask for my money back if I could

Good price/location are all this palce has going. Feels like a college dorm with a fed up second semester RA leaving (not even passive) aggressive signage all over about cleaning/fees/lengthy hostel rules. "Maybe in person they're cheerful," I mistakenly hoped. Breakfast is the sad affair you'd expect thrown in for free at most places but is $6 here, coffee not included. Towel "hiring" is a nonrefundable $10. Austere common spaces close at 10 pm in a city that shuts down at 9. Bathrooms unclean.

Hated this place. Stayed for one night and couldn’t get out of there quick enough. No doubt one of the staff will reply disputing what I have to say - but here is my honest experience: staff not friendly or helpful, not a nice social area, rooms are tight, beds uncomfortable, lockers are loud to open and close, filthy bathrooms, dirty kitchen. Just not a nice place, bad atmosphere. Don’t go!
