Such a magical place. Juan is the man he runs a tight ship and ensures everyone is enjoying themselves. The food is delicious, trucha for the win! Met some great people and was able to relax from our busy trip through Peru. This is not a party hostel, its secluded and quiet at night which is why it is so special. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Simplicity at its best. True way to explore and embrace the Aymaras culture on one of many floating islands in Lake Titicaca. Staffs were very friendly welcoming us and made our stay very enjoyable along with delicious meals! Truly a hidden gem in the city of Puno! Therefore we highly recommended!

Most incredible experience! A very authentic floating islands experience, more like a homestay. The family that run Arumo Uros is lovely (only speak Spanish) and provide delicious food, very comfortable beds. Really awesome place to stay for a night and relax. The collectivo service boat takes you to one of the main touristy Uros islands, Juan will collect you from there via speedboat to take you to the accomodation. Dinner is optional for $10USD pp - highly recommend.

Incredibly beautiful peaceful spot on Uros. Allows you to really enjoy the islands away away from the tourist-y day trips.

Awesome, awesome stay. The people are wonderful, the bed was comfy, the shower was hot, the rooms were clean. Definitely an EXPERIENCE to stay at this hostel, and I’ll fondly remember it for the rest of my life. Things to note: it’s very cold at night (But they give you a hot bottle) so bundle up, the showers are better taken during sunlight so they’re hot, EAT the dinner (it’s simple, fresh, and delicious), and look at the stars at night (there are so many). STAY AT THIS HOSTEL. ❤️❤️❤️.

Wonderful family, (very little English), great food, beautiful surroundings! This is a rustic adventure, but does have 4 flush toilets and showers. Everything was clean and in better shape than some hotels we have stayed in at Cusco etc. Not quite like camping, but not like glamping. Did I say the food was good? Very cold in June, below freezing temps in evening till 9:00 am. No indoor heating, but they give you a hotwater bottle to sleep with and lots of blankets. No one was cold.

We loved our stay here. The owners took special care of us and went out of their way to pick us up when we arrived to Puno very late at night. It’s definitely an experience here - you have to remember you are staying on a floating island in the middle of a lake so the facilities reflect that. My only issue is if you book an island tour with the hostel you are inevitably going to end up on some island with a local where they very much expect you to buy something from them. It’s a bit awkward.

My stay here was excellent. The accommodations didn’t appear to be terribly well built but, during my night there we weathered a tremendous thunderstorm with no issues and no leaks. The food is excellent and our guide Eddy took us fishing and for a tour of the islands, he was great. I also recommend using their transfer to the island. My bus arrived late at night and later than the planned arrival time and they were still able to help bring me to the island without issue.

We had a great time on the floating islands. The private transfer went smoothly and precisely on time. It was raining when we arrived, but cleared up the next day for an excursion around the village where Eddy taught us about the Totora reeds, the local school and generally how they live. That was only 10USD each. The meals were also 10USD each, except breakfast which is included, and were basic but good for the location. Either trout or chicken with veggies, soup entree or a fruit dessert.
