General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card ???? Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

The following group types are not accepted by this hostel: Holiday with Friends, Junior / Primary School, High / Secondary School, College / University, Business Trip, Stag/Hen/Bachelor Party, Sports Group, Cultural Group If you have misrepresented the type of group you are booking for, your booking may be cancelled by the hostel."

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Property Description

Vancouver Backpacker House is a boarding house. 14 min. away from Downtown Vancouver by skytrain. We are also closed to the biggest shopping mall (Metrotown shopping mall) in Vancouver in a 10 min. walk distance.

VBH is 14 min to downtown by skytrain. 10 min walking distance to the largest shopping mall 'Metrotown shopping mall' in BC.

British Colombia Institute Technology, Library, community center, Metrotown skytrain, Royal oak skytrain, restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops are closed by.

5 min. walk to community center (fine arts l preschool guide l fitness l racquet sports l swimming l weights
yoga & Pilates)

Bookings of 2 or more persons made in dormitory rooms are not guaranteed to be in the same room at the time of check in.

We are a non-smoking facility. We provide free wirless interent and free street parking

**This is a Self Check in Accommodation. We have been trying to cut down the cost as much as we can to meet traveller’s budget in this expensive city.
We are looking for quiet, clean, friendly and willing to open the door themselves guests. If you have a concern of doing Self Check in, needs a greeting at all time or breakfast, please do not book this place.

    Staff was nice and accommodating even though I checked in super late. Atmosphere was pretty chill and the people staying in the hostel were really nice. The facilities are relatively decent. The location was a little bit away from the city but it’s not that bad if you are driving. Would definitely stay again.

    I feel that Hostels are always defined by the kind of visitor they attract. I found all staff and fellow travellers to be very warm, friendly and happy to talk and share stories. The location is good, only a short walk from Metrotown SkyTrain station. Metrotown also has a Walmart and a "Real Canadian Superstore" - the latter being a great place to find all manner of items and foods. Certain beds were uncomfortable as the mattress was very thin, but nothing too crazy. Special shoutout to Tanya!

    Distinct lack of welcoming atmosphere. I was ignored and left waited to check in at least 15 minutes and then was able to check in only after I made an effort to track someone down. Definitely unfriendly. Will not stay here again

    Pros: Close to metrotown station to access various places via expo line train. Plenty of grocery, food options at metrotown mall. Cons: Super weird check in procedure, wont accept card without upcharging 8% from posted price. Kitchen is pretty barebones. Basically zero social atmosphere just people in their own rooms. Strange rules about hours for usage of different areas of the house, ex. only one 24hr bathroom, no kitchen usage between certain hours

    The experience wasn't horrible, it was just a lot more work and a lot less value for my money then expected. I did have a private room which helped the experience, if I didnt have that I would not have stayed at all. The other room was full of metal bunk beds and nowhere to keep your belongings. Kitchen water was unusable, kitchen was too small for the amount of people. The bathrooms were good though, perfect amount and cleanliness.

    There was antisemitic and sexist graffiti in my room. It seemed like most people were living there, so the atmosphere was not a fun travel tourist vibe. Not the best location - far from downtown but a nice neighborhood. I got to the building and a guy drove me to their other location a block away which was weird. I never saw anyone clean and the floors were very dirty. 1 of the bathrooms didn't lock. The house with the 3 bed rooms was nicer than the house with the 10 bed rooms, I stayed in both.

    It took an hour on arrival to pay the charges and get to our accommodation. You couldn't pay by card and had to go through an email process with the owner's? to pay and get access codes. The assistant was photographing credit cards and passports and didn't seem happy with the process. When we had completed the payment, our accommodation was about half a kilometer away. We were asked to go barefoot but the floors were sticky . The oven had baked on grease. One of the beds had a hard ridge. etc
