Viajero Hostel was hands down the best hostel experience I have ever had. Don’t listen to all of those other whack reviews. Maya, Julliana, Valentina, Gabriel, and Ricardo made me feel like a part of their family and truly made my short stay a wonderful experience. I’ll miss them all so much! The hostel offers so many activities and the staff will teach you how to salsa! I will be coming back to visit one day. THIS IS THE BEST HOSTEL! Much love - Joshua

My favourite hostel I stayed in in Colombia. The staff here are extremely friendly and for someone trying hard to learn Spanish they bounced between that and English when I got stuck. Great hostel for socialising :)

This is a very nice, cozy place to spend a good time. The rooms are comfortable and the common places are beautiful to enjoy if you wanna socialize. The staff was very kind and eager to help. Ricardo, Valentina, Julián, Juliana and Gabriel were always willing to help, assist and make you spend a remarkable time in Salento. Besides, you count on good facilities and a scenic view of the mountains for your morning coffee. It was a good choice for my trip ☺️

    Very Good

I had high expectations for Viajero in Salento (my first experience staying in a Viajero) the dorm rooms do not have locks and beds don’t have curtains for privacy so it doesn’t feel the safest hostel in terms of personal security. Rooms are also not as modern, clean and functional as other Viajero’s (Medellin and Santa Marta - both lovely!) The WI-FI was also down for most of my visit (two nights - a common issue in Salento I think) Social and friendly vibe – the salsa class was lots of fun and the teach

Overall the hostel was good, they offered many activities and were incredibly helpful. There wasn’t much of a social atmosphere, however, and the property was under construction. My low rating is primarily from the fact there was no lock on the door. Anyone could have walked into my room at any time which I found unnerving.

Very poor hostel. Whole place seems like it was built 20 years ago and never refurbished. Rooms are shabby and bathrooms are poor- the shower is a miserable stream of cold water. Booming music means it is impossible to sleep before midnight. A real let down considering the other Vianjeros in Colombia are generally excellent. I made sure to stay elsewhere when I returned to Cartagena
