Returning here for a second time, this time I did not get lost or scammed into staying next door like the last time, when the neighbour at '9/11' (not 11) make out I'd arrived at Vila 11! The family run hotel is cosy and welcoming. I'm looking forward to going back there again and recommend the place highly for anyone needing accommodation near to the station.

Spent three nights here in a private room with our own shower and bath - very nice. At first we were disappointed that there was not air conditioning, but there were big windowsAppreciated the old house with stories of its own. Great location, just meters from the train station, walk in one direction to the outdoor village museum (Go There!), walk in the other direction to Old Town and the Parliamentary Palace (take a tour, the guides are funny and frank about the twists and turns of the past).

The hostel is very well located close to the train station and the pancakes in the morning are a plus. Deborah was extremely helpful and nice. Nice general atmosphere.

Deborah was just lovely and introduced me to her adorable baby grandson! It was a very charming old house, a bit of a mess but it was fine. I had a private with a bathroom in my room for about 65 lei, and that really can't be beat. The bed could certainly be cleaner, however. 5 minute walk to Gara de Nord. I felt safe in the area as a single woman.

    Very Good

A simple hostel in a very central location. You get a bed and a bathroom for little money. Really beautiful is the atmosphere in the old mansion with many old books and other old stuff. Unfortunately we could not try the breakfast because we left too early. Staff is very friendly. Maybe the bathroom could have been a little cleaner and we got no toilet paper. But overall the right choice, who just want to sleep in their place and expect no luxuries.

Returning to the property around 11pm I detected a strong smell of gas that wasn't present earlier in the evening or on my previous visit in June. Another long term resident guest who was present acknowledged that there was often a smell of gas but didn't consider it a problem. The owner was out so I investigated with a torch in the cellar. On his return he took great offence, denied there could possibly be a problem and threw me out (at around midnight). Exercise caution !

the staff were real nice, the showers were great, but there was a cockroach thing in the room and the wifi was sh*t and no air conditioning and the locker door blocked the door into the room, the pillows were too soft, but it was the cheapest hostel and only a 20 minute walk from the train station, even though we went to the wrong station. only 1 key per room.

Bit of a mixed bag. Location is excellent, 3 minute walk from gare du Nord. Neighborhood is reasonably quiet and feels safe. Debbie is very helpful and the pancakes are great. But there are no lockers, although the building is secure and the place could do with a good clean, eg hair on bathroom floor and dust around beds. Also lots of stairs and my top floor room got very hot even with the fan on. It is good value for what it costs, and it's certainly acceptable as a pitstop between trains.

This B&B is a very mixed bag. The location was, for us, excellent, due to the access to Gara de Nord, the adjoining metro station, and the shops and restaurants in and by GDN. That was worth a lot to us! On the other hand, it's the dirtiest place I've ever stayed anywhere anytime. The hostess seemed surprisingly hostile when we first arrived, though she got friendly each day that we stayed. The pancakes for breakfast were welcome, but that's all the breakfast there was: no fruit or anything else
