Property Description

Vista Verde is a hostel with local owners, with Mayan descent.
It all started with a dream, the story begins with a mother with six children, fighting hard to give each day her bread to each of her children. The owner named Celia is 60 years old, previously engaged in the work of laundry, agriculture and more. Our first language is the Mayan Qékchi language, the second language is Spanish, therefore we speak very little English.

If you want to have a contact with the local Mayan culture we recommend you to come to green view, all our staff can tell you our roots and traditions, our language and customs.

Our concept is of a rustic and ecological hostel, with a culture and traction of Guatemala and Lanquin, we have helpful staff who are willing to help you in all, all our rooms have views of the mountains, some overlooking the river

We have an incredible pool, overlooking the small town of Lanquin, a sunrise that you can never forget.

Vista Verde Hostal is the first ecological hostel with descendant lanquinera, located at the entrance of Lanquin. For your comfort, the hostel offers a bar and restaurant service onsite. Breakfast is served daily, extra-fee may be applied. From the property, you will enjoy fantastic views over the mountain, river or city.

Vista Verde Hostal is located near Lanquin, at the top of a small hill overlooking the city and mountain. The property is located only 5 minutes away from the city of Lanquin.

Vista Verde Hostal offers comfortable rooms, private and shared rooms. There are dorms up to 5 people and private rooms for 2 people. All rooms have shared bathroom.

The owner was the most warm and welcoming hostel owner my friends and I have ever had!! She was so lovely and helpful with organising the tours and shuttles, etc - all round lovely woman! The rooms were spacious and clean and the infinity pool was stunning looking over the mountains. Would recommend to anyone! Their little restaurant also does superb food too

We enjoyed our stay at Vista Verde. The cottages are not luxurious but an experience. Melisa, the manager, chef and everything else you can think of, is super nice and tries to accommodate all wishes. People complaining are probably forgetting that this hostel is in the middle of the jungle/nowhere. Everything is prepared fresh to order and the prices are very fair.

Lovely staff and beautiful hostel, just slightly ruined by the woman who runs it. She treats the staff really badly and is obsessed with getting as much money out of everyone as possible - she almost made me miss my bus on my last day because didn’t believe that I hadn’t eaten all my meals at the hostel and wanted to “re-check” the accounts

Vista Verde was a very pleasant stay. The accommodations are very minimal right now because they are renovating but apparently their bar and restaurant will be open soon. The staff was an absolute joy and they were very helpful, especially Melissa.

Food is overpriced. Staff members don't speak Spanish nor English since they're natives who speak their Mayan language. You might think they're laughing at you but they're actually joking among them. The place was amazing, I loved nature around.

Good hostel. You get what you pay for. Walking distance from Zephr. No plugs in dorm rooms for electricity and wifi turns off at night.

The hostel is in a perfect location but it’s let down by the family that run it. Very rude and unhelpful - even tried adding extra things to our tab we hadn’t had! It was good value for money but not worth it for the atmosphere created by the staff.

Staff didn’t even had bottled water, wifi didn’t work and there weren’t any towels. Yes we we’re in the middle of the jungle but I had just come from Zephyr Lodge, go stay there!

Do NOT stay here! I have travelled over 100 countries, stayed in hostels, airbnbs, hotels.... and never ever been treated like this!!!!!! Vista Verde Lodge is the worst accommodation in the world! The receptionists are the rudest I have ever seen! The towels and beddings are dirty!! The rooms are full of cockroach .Their booking system is non existent! They over book the lodge and email guests with excuses (happened to me and other guests who I met at the lodge) and try to change your room to do
