Hostelworld says

Vitae hostel awarded the most popular hostel in Budapest 2019 with the Hoscars.

This sociable, party-oriented hostel offers a welcoming atmosphere with staff who are'super helpful and friendly and are on hand to include you in the activities, according to users of Hostelworld.

They host various different nightly events and dinners and one traveller told us that guests looking for a quiet night can 'hang back at the hostel and play PlayStation, use the Wi-Fi or relax on the balcony'.

Property Description

Vitae Hostel (Seize the night life!) offers the perfect balance between providing a wide range of amenities and facilities of a large hostel, but making you feel relaxed in a sociable, fun and family-esque atmosphere. Whether you are traveling alone, or part of a group, you'll immediately feel welcomed and want to stay with us longer to see what the Budapest hype is all about!

Though still participating in a different party every night of the week, Vitae represents the more relaxed, less intense atmosphere of the five hostels under the world-famous ‘Budapest Party Hostels’ group. Clean, spacious, non-smoking and secure dorm rooms are always ready for travelers in need of rest; drunk and sober alike. Our staff, which are comprised entirely of experienced travelers, have all of the best recommendations and tips to make your stay in the beautiful city of Budapest the unforgettable highlight of your travels.

And why travel, if not to make new friends along the way? Over 60% of Vitae’s floor space are dedicated common areas for you to meet & mingle with other guests over a game of cards, drinks, or the cheap family-dinners the staff put on for only the cost of the meal’s ingredients. Vitae’s 3 modern kitchens are always accessible and if you’d rather eat your meals over a good film or video game session, there’s a projector room and a snug to lounge in during all hours of the day. We have entertainment central with a darts board, table football, guitar hero, Playstation 4 and netfilx with a projector screen and even chess to stop you from getting bored.

Sight seeing and partying don’t always have to go hand in hand, but Vitae’s all staff always try and present a healthy blend of the two together every day with their knowledge of all things Budapest, historic and contemporary. Whether you’re after a romantic evening dinner cruise on the Danube river or a 6am trip to a 24hr bar in the city after a night out, the staff have been in your shoes and will happily point you in the right direction.

It won’t take long to notice the ATM, currency exchange, tram stop, bus stop, convenience store, tobacco shop, and 24hr eateries and the cheapest bars are all on the same city block as Vitae.

A week with us will include party boats, ruin bar crawls, spa parties, open mic nights, backpacker parties and much more. Of course we are flexible and open to suggestions, so you let us know what you like and we'll see if we can get the group along - and we also know all sorts of cool stuff to do during the day!

We are on three levels and have the luxury of being to able to offer a multitude of different rooms to cater to every budget and privacy request, from private doubles, twins, female only dorms right up to 12 and 14 bed dorms for the more money-conscious traveler. View House Rules

We can’t recommend this hostel more. Staying as a couple in a party hostel we weren’t sure how well people would receive us but we were made to feel so included and so comfortable by everyone. We had so much fun and it made us wish we were staying for longer here and that we were staying in more hostels during our trip. We already can’t wait to return to Budapest and stay at Vitae again! Special thank you to the incredible staff for being so friendly and so much fun.

This is the best place to stay. So much fun and the staff is amazing. They treat you like family but better than the Olive Garden. Just stay there and you’ll never want to leave.

One of the best hostels I have ever been to! Super nice and social atmosphere, while the girls dorm was perfect to still get a little bit of sleep. The staff took super good care of basically everything, even the small things as the bathrooms were even clean during the night and always checked Loved the email to inform you about things that are going on during the day, there was always something happening and most of the times even a couple of things! Definitely planning to come back!

They have this Icelandic dude working there named Ymir and I could talk with him in Icelandic which was cool. And he taught me how to cook eggs too in exchange for a Baileys shake, so now I know how to make myself breakfast. The elevator was broken this week but it usually works and is super fast. Seriously though, this was the best hostel in Europe 5 years ago and it still is. Not even close.

My friends and I came to Vitae to party and got exactly what we hoped for and more! The place was super clean and all the staff were super sick. Vitae felt like home within minutes. Special thanks to Ymir for being a legend and actually making our stay as well!

Great place to stay! The atmosphere and vibe were electric. So many activities to keep you engaged and welcomed into the community. From group drinks to welcome dinners, it felt like college! Staff can feel slightly clique-ish and some of the activities can add up cost wise if you do them all. Cleanliness okay but that’s hit or miss depending on your dorm - it’s a party hostel so can’t complain.

Really great place and atmosphere! Loved the events In the night- bar crawl and party bus. Made lots of new friends. Just make sure all bathrooms are accessible..as 1 was out of order and the other 1 locked. So 1 bathroom between 5 different rooms :-/ cleanliness was alright . Loved the signs and generally a great place to stay !

Love the 10pm onwards quiet time rule. Run by mostly Aussie volunteers and not a bad place. If you feel like partying you can party, if not then you can comfortably sleep. Most volunteers were good but few seemed like they were sick of travellers. Layout of the hostel is a bit too spread out so you can't really meet everyone unless you go to one of their events. You also link up with other Budapest Party hostels which is also some good fun.

Great hostel and would stay here again. Best part was the atmosphere and the outgoing nature of the people there. Definitely just try to talk to people at the great events the hostel hosts and you’ll make friends no doubt about it. Bathrooms were an issue here, kind of clean but no hot water and only one working bathroom on my floor while I was there. Facilities were plentiful but somewhat run down. Overall though, the hostel was worth the money and the people there were worth meeting as well.

Vitae Hostel says

I'd say that Carpe Noctem Vitae is definitely for travellers who like to go out at night but who also enjoy seeing the city and being a tourist during the day. It's a sociable place and we've got a whole range of night-time programs, inclyding free pub crawls, backpackers' parties and party boats. I really think people like us for our community and the welcoming nature of the hostel. Every night the staff at the hostel cook dinner for their guests and get everyone involved before heading out at night.
Since we're a party hostel we cater to travellers aged 18 to 36, solo travellers as well as bigger groups who enjoy a sociable and fun hostel. Ellen, Staff
