Couldn’t have been more lucky to stay here. I started to feel very ill and the owner (Suky) took me to the hospital. I had my appendix removed the next day! Suky also owns “homey hostel” I stand there on my visit back for my follow up appointment. If you book vLoft, book the 4 bed dorm as they ac is better. Homey hostel is only 2 streets away but is louder. (Ear plugs provided) due to the night market etc. Suky did everything she could to help me. I will always remember Ipoh! Lol

Great hostel. Stayed in the 4 bed dorm which was quieter and helped us get a decent nights kip. Facilities were of good standard and clean. Staff were very helpful.

Clean and comfortable hostel. For solo women traveling I’m not sure I would recommend booking into the large/main room. There is no staff during the night and I was alone with a man which was not the most ideal situation. I was quite uncomfortable being alone with him and no one else in the building. I think this would be a good spot for people traveling in groups, but not solo.

The lady boss Ms Suky was very friendly. Gave me the instruction where to go and how to go. Entire was very quiet when i was there, only 4 guest during my stay. But i do have a local friend there who bought me out for dinner and drinking during my 2 night stay in Ipoh. Street food stalls are just around the neighbour ( one street away) less than 5 mins walk. Bus trip back and from to Medan kidd also very near( 3 or 4 stop away) Can even walk along too. Aman Jaya bus station take another 1/2 hr.

    Very Good

No complaints about my stay here but nothing outstanding either! Comfy (although unbelievably squeaky!) beds, good location and free water refills and tea/coffee. I would recommend staying in the four bed dorm if possible - the big dorm is the main room and includes reception and the front door which feels a little uncomfortable, maybe a partition or even just a curtain would be good to address this problem.

Staff really helpful, provided us with maps and local information. Big, open room with reception in the same room. Beanbags and balcony also here so potential to be social. Great location to explore the city. Bathrooms not regularly cleaned. Not many other backpackers.

We might be overly paranoid but my friend and I (two woman) didn't feel very safe here with just the other people (just two older men) in the room. We didn't realise the staff would be offsite. We left a night early, though a few more people checked in the next day so we would have felt better with that. Traffic was noisy through the night but other than that the hostel was in a good location, bathrooms were clean and there was a nice balcony area.
