Hostelworld says

Way Hostel is within walking distance of most sights in Madrid and is near the weekly Rastro market, Puerta del Sol, La Latina and Plaza Mayor. Hostelworld guests frequently recommend this hostel's free tours as a 'great way to see the city', saying they're 'really helpful for those who come to Madrid with no idea on what to do'. Our visitors have also praised the staff for being 'extremely helpful and [having] a great knowledge of the city', saying the hostel 'gives you an inside look at Madrid' and is 'less than 300 feet from a metro station but in a side street which makes it very quiet'.

Property Description

We're located in the quiet neighbourhood of Tirso de Molina, just around the corner from Puerta del Sol, the neuralgic centre of Madrid. We have selected our location in order to have all of the main touristic spots in walking distance to the hostel. in this beautiful and walkable city. Close to traditional markets such as San Miguel or El Rastro flea market on Sunday mornings, the hostel is not more than a 15 minute walk to the Art Triangle: Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums.
The first idea for the creation of Way Hostel took place in the summer of 2008. By that time, there was not even a name, just a place that appeared to be ideal for our goal, the one that involved opening a new concept hostel in the city. We only knew the name should have 3 letters and rooms should be wide and diverse, because the new type of “backpackers” coming to town were not satisfied with the cheap accommodation that existed in Madrid. With all the will, and dreams ahead, we began to reform the building and create the first strategies to develop what soon became the best hostel in the city. A great place, with a great name and a great location was not enough, so our next move was to build up a young and multilingual team with ambitions. Today, after more than 8 years, Way Hostel turned out to be the best location in its category, making it the perfect spot for great memories to more than 200.000 guests that have given us a chance. Once here, you will be the judge.
Our motivation has been, and will always be the same: it is important that you come, but far more important that you come back. This is why we offer a huge variety of rooms and prices, activities and services that will assure a great stay. From double private rooms ensuite to large dorms and only female dorms; from free, to “backpacker´s” price activities; from Spanish, to South America members on Staff; once here, you will never want to leave! And if you are planning a group trip, with friends, family, uni or whatsoever, we will offer the value for the money of the market so you can enjoy everything else Madrid has to offer!
We offer a wide variety of activities including a walking tour, tapas tour, cheap dinner in the house, pub crawl and a Flamenco show. We also organize 'milongas', the famous tango dance celebration, every Saturday night at the hostel free of charge for our guests! So if you happen to stay during the weekend, you should try out your dancing skills!

Almost 9 years has gone by since we opened, so we thought it was time to update our facilities and fulfill our customer´s needs, keep up with the new competition in town and give a nice design to our common areas and rooms.
Now we are proud to welcome you to the new WAY, same location, same spirit, with newly refurbished common areas and facilities, reading lights for each bed, individual sockets, new and modern lockers and an even greater atmosphere with super high speed Wi-Fi.

Come visit us and check out the new WAY HOSTEL MADRID. View House Rules

Here at Way Hostel, we're proud of our welcoming staff, central location and activities: think free walking tours, tapas tours, bar crawls and flamenco shows. We host free milongas – tango dance events – every Saturday night, so don't be shy about joining in if you're staying with us at the weekend. With free Wi-Fi throughout the building (including in our comfy common room), you'll be able to keep your loved ones updated on your Spanish adventures... or just catch up on Netflix after your siesta.

While we're located in the quiet Tirso de Molina neighbourhood, we're also just around the corner from Puerta del Sol in the heart of the city. We're 15 minutes' walk from the Art Triangle (the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums), and in the same area you'll find other must-see sights too, like El Retiro park. You can reach us easily from Madrid-Barajas airport and the main train station, Madrid Atocha, by metro – we're just around the corner from the Tirso de Molina stop.

Rooms and Dorms

Choose a private room with an en-suite. Whatever you decide, all rooms have air con and come with storage lockers for your backpack. You'll also be able to save space with your packing, as we provide free bed linen and you can hire towels for a small fee.

Extras and activities

This hostel is amazing and I will definitely return when I come back to Madrid. The staff are an absolute asset to this hostel. They are all so very friendly, have plenty of local knowledge and even ironed a blouse for me :) the night shift guy is great to chat to if you can’t sleep! I stayed in a 12 bed dorm. Lots of space and very clean! I was only meant to stay a few nights I ended up staying for a week! I’d also recommend doing the free walking tours they offer too!

I only stayed here for one night, having stayed in another hostel nearby but having to move due to an expired reservation. However, I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone. I especially enjoyed the conversational atmosphere, being fluent in Spanish and interacting with people.

Had a great time staying here at Way hostel! My friend and I came to stay for the New Year and Way hostel provided us with a wide range of activities for us to do. There are pub crawl every night, which are great fun! We also went on the free walking tour with Evelyn :) She was an amazing tour guide! She was very informative and easy to understand, which is great for the non-english. WE LOVE YOU EVELYN! Great way to meet other people from all over the world. I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent hostel. Location could not be better! Lockers are big, I managed to fit my entire backpack inside. Free churros for breakfast are nice detail. Crowd staying is very friendly, open to chat and having a drink. Had a great time staying there. If I ever go back to Madrid I'll definitely look into Way again.

Awesome stay at Way! The staff were all super friendly and helpful, the place was spotless, and it’s in a great location. Great kitchen space for cooking your own food if you wish, and tons of friendly people speaking many different languages. Only minor complaint is that the common room was absolutely freezing most of the time. Not a big issue in the scheme of things, but worth mentioning I guess. Would definitely recommend and stay again if back in Madrid!

Way Hostel says

We care above everything else about our guests and their needs. We generally attract people aged 18 to 60 years old who have a good vibe and are open to meeting other avid travellers. For fun we do pub crawls, a tapas tour, paella night and drinking games, or we go out to the nearby nightclubs and bars. Sometimes we just chill out in our recently-refurbished lounge.
I think we really do offer the best value for price in Madrid, because we've got large, comfy rooms and lots of bathrooms. We're not more than 15 minutes away from Sol, the Rastro Market, La Latina, Retiro Park, the Royal Palace, Gran Vía, Plaza España and Plaza Mayor, but the one place I usually recommend that people see is the Templo Debod.
