Property Description

The Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum was started by backpackers for backpackers back in the year 2000. The hostel was built around what they themselves wanted to find in a good hostel when they were traveling.
A good social vibe, book exchange, bar with backpacker prices, communal Kitchen (loaded with free spices, salt, pepper), full Cook Your Own Breakfast, free Rice, Pasta and lentils for dinner, good Advice on Tours and Activities.

Some aspects of the Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum appear to be unique but they are not. Many of them came from other hostels where we had stayed long before we dreamed of opening a hostel in Tulum. For example the Burn Your Own BBQ was inspired by the Bondi Beach Hotel's incredible steak BBQ setup inside the bar. Huge, beautiful cuts of beef were in a display fridge that was part of the bar. You would say, 'Yeah, give me that one!' and huge chunk of raw red meat came at you on a platter. It is your job to cook it how you wanted it.

We are located in the main village área. We have an incredible kitchen setup that is the envy of many local restaurants but we are close to all shopping, restuarants and transportation centers. Tulum's world famous White sand beaches are 10 minutes away by taxi or 30 minutes by bike on the bike trails.

Hostel was very nice, booked for 3 nights.... stayed for 10. Free drink hour is great to meet people, and enjoyed the pool area. Events every night, music is not too loud to sleep. Highly recommend, and I will be back.

I stayed 2 nights in this hostel and I must say it was a chill hostel. It was really calm, the staff was really nice and the location is perfect (30 sec walk from the center). Moreover, the decoration was so beautiful, with a lot of colours! So, if you're looking for a "party" hostel, or a hostel where you can meet a lot of person I don't recommend you choosing this one. But if you want something calm, this one is really good.

    Very Good

Really sucks that the name of this hostel was weary traveler. I chose this hostel becuase I was exhausted and slightly sick and needed a place to recover. I payed for a private room for three night and every night they have music blasting up until midnight. Not what I expected . Everything else in the hostel is fine

Great staff, awesome yoga, and fun place to chill and meet people. The rooms and the bathrooms are not comfortable and don’t feel very clean.

Cockroaches. Free margaritas from 7 to 8 pm. I did not really see people cleaning. For this price tho it was ok. But there are much better options in town. I would not advise you to stay here.

The hostel was not very clean. The sheets looked like they had not been washed. There were ants crawling on the bedroom walls. Would not recommend this hostel.
