Property Description

The Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum was started by backpackers for backpackers back in the year 2000. The hostel was built around what they themselves wanted to find in a good hostel when they were traveling.
A good social vibe, book exchange, bar with backpacker prices, communal Kitchen (loaded with free spices, salt, pepper), full Cook Your Own Breakfast, free Rice, Pasta and lentils for dinner, good Advice on Tours and Activities.

Some aspects of the Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum appear to be unique but they are not. Many of them came from other hostels where we had stayed long before we dreamed of opening a hostel in Tulum. For example the Burn Your Own BBQ was inspired by the Bondi Beach Hotel's incredible steak BBQ setup inside the bar. Huge, beautiful cuts of beef were in a display fridge that was part of the bar. You would say, 'Yeah, give me that one!' and huge chunk of raw red meat came at you on a platter. It is your job to cook it how you wanted it.

We are located in the main village área. We have an incredible kitchen setup that is the envy of many local restaurants but we are close to all shopping, restuarants and transportation centers. Tulum's world famous White sand beaches are 10 minutes away by taxi or 30 minutes by bike on the bike trails.

I booked only 2 nights, and ended up staying for over a week!! Great staff, that directed me to all the amazing places Tulum has to offer. Breakfast included, which you make yourself, in a HUGE kitchen I loved. I rented bikes in the dive shop, thats attached to the hostel and went to all the nearby cenotes. In the evening, I drank FREE Caipirinhas, And with karaoke on some nights, it made it hard to leave. I also can't forget the chill out moments in the hammock.. P.S. they have pool! :)

Best hostel I stayed in Mexico so far! It has everything you need and the staff is doing a great job trying to offer activities, food and a good atmosphere. I liked that it is not a loud party hostel but you they do some activities in the night so you can connect to other guests. Thanks for the great Yoga and Salsa classes!

This is my favourite hostel in Tulum, I’ve stayed here the past two years running and wouldn’t bother looking anywhere else if I was to come back a third year! Free caprinhinas every night from 7-8 is the perfect way to meet people if you’re travelling on your own. Highly recommend 😊

There were many old men solo travellers. Not a good vibe for young women. Beautiful main areas tho.

Stayed in many hostels but The Weary Traveler is dangerous mix between no rule and I don't care attitude. The staff is nice but no rules. It sounded fun and liberating ....... Most expensive stay in 2 week trip. *The kitchen always has dirty dishes. *Lol wtf is soap. *fridge stuffed with old shirt. *No hot water in the bathroom. *The flush barely works. *Turn the water in the sink and it smells . *Constantly smoking* loud music till 12ish every night.* Stained sheets smelly pillows. But yolo
