Group Booking Terms and Conditions

Because you are making a Group Booking, there are additional Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read them and click 'I Accept' below to continue with your booking

General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through Hostelworld.com you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by Hostelworld.com and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on Hostelworld.com it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • Hostelworld.com are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card on arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Cancellation / No Show & Reduction in Numbers Policy

Full Payment of the group booking must be received two weeks prior to group's arrival date. If there are any alterations after this time, Westend will charge for additional guests at full rate and in the instance of a reduction in numbers Westend will refund the reduction (with more than 2 weeks notice). If the group cancels with less than two weeks notice yet more than 48 hours notice the first night of the total group booking will be charged to the group credit card. If the group cancels less than 48 hours notice or does not cancel, Westend will charge the full amount due for the group to the groups credit card details provided by Hostelworld. Westend Backpackers offers groups additional services such as meal planning and tour/activity co-ordination. Please ask Lachy from Westend for more information.

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

We have a 24hr cancellation policy, except during peak periods
(see below -Peak Periods).

Late cancellations and no-shows shall be charged the equivalent of the first nights accommodation.
If you arrive after midnight on the specified day of arrival your reservation will be cancelled with the cancellation fee of the first nights accommodation.

Groups of 10 or more are not entitled to a free airport pick up.
Credit cards have a surcharge of 1.5%.

Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Children cannot be accommodated in dormitory accommodation unless prior approval has been given by the property.

Peak Periods:
* If you plan to arrive between the 22nd December and 3rd January
please note that we require the balance of your booking to be paid on December 1st.
* Credit Cards which decline will have their reservations cancelled.
* Cancellations after the 1st December and before arrival date
will incur a penalty equal to that of your accommodation. No Refunds
will be given.
* Failure to arrive on the reserved day will incur a full charge and
cancellation of the said reservation.

***This property will be undergoing renovations from early February 2017 until further notice. During this period, guests may experience some noise or light disturbances, and some hotel facilities and services may not be available.

The elevator will not be accessible from the Ground Floor from 23 February, 2017 until further notice. It will still be accessible from Levels 1-13.

This unfortunately means that we are no longer wheelchair accessible.

    While we understood that paying ~$15 for a bed was inexpensive, but the value was not there. We stayed in “the church” (32 beds in one room) and knew that would be an experience. My #1 issue is the cleanliness—the carpet was extremely dirty and the room smelled because of it. Also, the air conditioning either didn’t work well or wasn’t turned on, so the combo of dirty carpet and warm temperatures left for a less than pleasant situation. Just know what you’re getting into before you book.

    We booked in for 4 nights and ended up only staying for one, fully understanding there are no refunds given. We were shook by how dirty it was, it's nothing like the pictures. The bathroom never got cleaned, duvets never washed (just folded back up) and several cockroaches. Facilities were definitely not up to standard with one working elevator for 13 floors. It was cheap and in a good location to the city center but I wouldn't stay there again.

    Honestly the worst hostel I have stayed in. The building was half finished with 3 communal toilets in the whole building, awful considering there offered 32 bed rooms. The rooms were so cramped - not like the photos. Everywhere was dirty and smelt of cannabis with occupants in my room constantly smoking it. 3 kitchen hobs - again ridiculous considering the amount of people. V unhappy/ Would not recommend/stay here again!!!!
