Property Description

The building is state of the art, the interior design is hip and clean, and our rooms await you with ensuite bathrooms as well as our new, multifunctional bunk beds. Our new flagship house in Munich's trendy 'Werksviertel' will set sail in April 2022.

Obviously when thinking of Munich, Beer, Pretzels and Lederhosen come to mind. However, the city does have a young, hip & modern side to it as well.
One of the most exciting areas of the city where this transition can currently be observed is called 'Werksviertel'.
A former industrial site, it was transformed into a trashy-chic place for Bars, Clubs, Arcades as well as the hotspot for Munich's alternative art scene in the 90s. This 'futuristic' neighborhood now elegantly combines modern living with event locations, gastronomy, sports, shopping in ample green surroundings and excellent access to public transit. With one of our houses right in the middle of the action!

And where exactly is the new Wombat's City Hostel Munich Werksviertel located? In the new landmark building of town of course! Based on a former potato silo, an 86 metre high complex has been constructed, visible from (almost) everywhere in the city. Hint for your bucket list: Not everyone can claim to have slept in a former silo.
This 86-meter-high ho(s)tel-tower makes the mix of tradition and modernism visible unlike any other place in town and you can even scale it! There's a rock-climbing gym with access to parts of the façade just next door.

Included as always:
- bedding
- WiFi
- our own Wombat's city maps
- the womBAR for never-ending parties - currently limited opening hours
- a guest kitchen open to all who want to cater to their own culinary needs
- 24/7 reception
- luggage storage
- rentables (towels, umbrellas, hairdryers, adapters: everything an avid traveler could possibly need)
- coin-operated laundry facilities (washing and crying ... oops, sorry about the typo, of course we mean drying), so you can re-vitalize your clothes ;)

Try our new tasty Brekkie: Classic or Vegan Style with modular add-ons, our very own Wombats Breakfast Coffee Roast and organic Milk, ensuring you have enough energy for your exciting day in Munich. You can buy your tickets for a small fee at reception.

Really great new spot in an up and coming neighborhood. Very close to transport options, and the area just outside the hostel provides lively nightlife. The hostel itself is really nicely done, and the staff was super kind. Loved the curtains on the beds!

Really nice place would definitely recommend staying here - super close to an underground station and bars - our only complaint would be the kitchen is far too small for how big the hostel is

The hostel is beautiful, close to the station but there are no bakeries or supermarkets near, cause it is surrounded by Baustellen. Restaurants and clubs are very close though. The location is very hip and I loved the architecture. Kitchen is well equipped but there are only 2 fridges and fully packed. Also the dining table is quite small for the whole hostel. I loved the chill out area and the kindnesses of the staff.

Solid hostel. There is a bar that makes it easy to meet people and they have CHEAP drinks! I think the location is good, it right between the train station and city center. The rooms were clean. Like other have said there aren't many outlets but it should be to big of a deal. Overall solid hostel.

Not the best hostel I've stayed at. Lockers are up to 5€ to store some luggage after checkout. Staff was a little rude, didn't seem to speak German at all. Also I hate fake plastic plants :D They should put some actual plants into the lobby instead

Having to do our own beds was a bit annoying due to the mattress-bedsheet combination in a tight space. That's our worst complaint though, as the fan and personal locker was a very nice addition to the bed, and having two bathrooms in the very same room was very nice. Location is close to Ostbahnhof which is nice but it would've been nice to have a more reasonable walking distance to the old town among other things. Decent restaurants in the area though, and good prices in the WomBar.
