Hostelworld says

We like the very central location of Wombats City Hostel Budapest, just a block from Andrássy utca and five minutes from a metro station serving three lines going to Buda, the airport stop and the three main train stations. This friendly, clean hostel opened in 2012 in a former hotel. It features spacious ensuite rooms with free air conditioning, free welcome drinks for guests and a budget-friendly all-you-can-eat breakfast with yoghurt, fruit and good bread.

All rooms have private bathrooms, meaning you're steps from a hot shower. Each room has smartcard access (make sure you keep yours on you!) – that opens the front door and your locker, as well as giving you access to your floor. Always a good time at the Wombats. Stayed for one night before Sziget and it was exactly as I needed it to be from last time I was there. I also lost my bag with the airline and the staff at Wombats were super accommodating about letting me have the airport drop it to them so I could go retrieve it. Thanks again guys!

I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. It is minutes away from the airport shuttle bus and right near the metro so it was super easy to get around. I stayed in the female dorm which was great.. a big room with a bathroom inside the room. The beds were comfortable and cozy. I’d recommend bringing earplugs because my room faced the street which gets noisy at night. I would definitely stay here again if I came to Budapest or would try any other of this hostel chains locations.

Great hostel- comfortable beds and good sized rooms. Secure lockers in the room were very good. Aircon in room too which was a big bonus. Social bar area and cheap, decent breakfast. Free walking tour from hostel available and you get a good map when you check in. Would definitely return!

Great spot on a great location. There are plenty of things to do around the area (Food, entertainment, etc). We came during the festival weekend so prices may have been upcharged. The internet was very spotty, so if you need something important, have it ready before hand. The air conditioner is a bit iffy as it can get hot, and the floors can be swept more often. However, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful with plenty of advice on what to do in the city.

Amazing location! Can't really get better than the main street in the Jewish Quarter!! Room felt super secure and despite Sziget happening and being on a main road, the room was silent at night! Free towels and the ability to request a new one was amazing. Bed was comfy, sheets were clean and cleaning staff cleaned my room super fast after a huge group of mates left. Only downside is the wifi being a bit patchy and having to exchange your ID for your room key.

    Very Good

Facilities are alright I guess... It was quite frustrating that there is only one spare bathroom for men and women in the WHOLE hostel, which means you could be waiting quite a while to use the loo. Internet only worked half the time on the ground level only. The kitchen was ok, but poorly equipped and missing many basic items. I was mostly here for Sziget, so I was not able to see the full extent of what the hostel had to offer, but overall, I was content and would come back.

Wombats City Hostel Budapest says

I think what's really unique about us is that this was a pretty good hotel before we upgraded it to a Wombats , so it comes with some amenities you don´t typically find in a hostel, like really big rooms, a/c, nice en suite facilities (even with hairdryers) and amply dimensioned common areas. It´s the biggest hostel in town, so guaranteed never boring. And the house is run by a really, really enthusiastic team.
We're one block from Andrassy utca (Budapest's version of the Champs Elysse), the main cathedral is just around the corner and the history city centre is a ten-minute walk away. Walk in the other direction and you're in the middle of the most lively nightlife area. Personally I recommend hitting Corvintetö, a superb rooftop club not far away. The langos shop next to the entrance is ridiculously good (and cheap), too.
Most of our guests are twentysomethings. Budapest offers excellent nightlife and is very cheap, so it attracts a lot of people who intend to indulge in it. Klaus, CFO Wombats
