I really liked this place a lot. It was my first time ever staying in a hostel, and I wasn’t one bit disappointed. Staff was amazing! They even let me charge my phone at the counter because I forgot mine at home! Met a lot of cool people from all around the world :) The lounge was a dope spot to hang out in, and the kitchen was very useful during our stay. Definitely recommend staying here if you are in Vienna! 11/10!

Clean and quite. If you are looking to relax this is a great hostel to stay at. Wasn’t really close to much though. Took Uber most places and they were really cheap. Would recommend. Stuff was really nice and helpful. Landry was kinda expensive and WiFi was pretty slow. But overall worth the price. Free towels and comfy beds!!

Great location! Just 3-5 minutes walk from Wien Westbahnof station, from which you can catch tram/bus/train to travel around the city. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also provide kitchen and tools, luggage storage room, and even a scooter to rent. The room was warm and clean. Will definetely come back here.

A huge thanks goes especially to Clemens who's been just the best receptionist I've ever met. Very relaxed and calm, which made me to come back again next time. Customer service, communication and that extra mile are the most important qualities. Guys, please sort out a safer luggage room. Any guest - on request - can go to the luggage room. I'd suggest to have someone who checks what's been put in with a ticketing system. They have 2 huge fridges, but pls also have a freezer as well. Good job!

The location, safety, staff, kitchen... everything was great EXCEPT there was no hair dryer which might be quite an inconvenience for ladies. Also, shelves and electric sockets weren't installed beside every bed which was also quite inconvenient. Other things especially the location were great though. There were train, u-bahn, bus and tram stations nearby. You can also find supermarkets, restaurants and post office beside the hostel.

Nice hostel, really clean and professional. Quite large so there isn't so much of an atmosphere if you are a solo traveler, however there's is usually something happening in the bar. The bar is cool with pool, fuseball etc which you have to pay a euro for. The bar is soooo hot though! Everyone was sweating so much, they really need some air con down there. Location is OK, very close to a metro so it's pretty easy to get around. It's about 30-40mns walk to most of the city centre stuff.

I did like the hostel, but I have stopped at better wombats. For a wombat hostel, I thought it could have been better. The location is good and your in walking distance to most attractions if you don’t mind walking 40 mins or so, which I didn’t. Or, you are super close to the metro which will take 5-10 mins to get to most attractions. If I came back, I would stop here again.

Wombats City Hostel Vienna - The Lounge says

Most large hostels have comfy modern facilities, but are bland and lack in atmosphere. For us, it´s very important to only hire staff who knows what a hostel actually is, stay in them when they travel themselves and so know from firsthand experience what the guests expect. I think our hostel is ideal for anyone who think hotels are too boring of a place to stay. We have almost all the amenities you expect from a hotel, but a good hostel offers so much more.
We're right on Mariahilfer St, Vienna's biggest shopping Road, but the Kahlenberg Hill is my favourite place. It's the easternmost hill in the Vienna woods, still inside Vienna's city limits but in the middle of the vineyards, well connected with public transport. When the city is baking in the summer sun, there's always a fresh breeze up there, a superb view over Vienna and a café with good ice cream. Klaus, CFO Wombats
