Hostelworld says

Wombats City Hostel Vienna - the Lounge is located on Vienna's main shopping street and is 'right around the corner from the Westbahnhof, which is where the airport bus stops, and it's a very easy subway right or a walk to the city centre', as one Hostelworld guest said. This hostel has a highly-praised breakfast as well as a popular bar which hosts regular parties while keeping the rooms quiet. They're most frequently praised on our site for their helpful, friendly staff.

Easy to get to. Room was super clean. SO close to the train station (less than a block away). I would stay here again.

Wicked hostel. Had everything you need from a hostel. Bar was pretty decent too! Not a bad location, a little far from the city centre but close to travel shack which is what matters!

Bar down stairs, bathroom for the dorm (4 beds), great atmosphere. It was a super solid hostel. There wasn’t any aircon and you had to make Your own bed but it didn’t compromise the experience.

This place did the job. Very close to tram and metro station. The rooms in the pictures are nicer than the room we had but it was just outdated. Cheap breakfast.

    Very Good

    19 Aug 2019
Unfortunately, I did not have a good stay. I was originally put into a female dorm by a passive front desk clerk and was then moved after a couple of hours once they realized their error. I was given a free breakfast ticket which was nice but moved to a room facing the main road. A construction crew worked through the night and I did not sleep (with earplugs) and the room had no ventilation because we had to keep the windows closed to minimize the noise, turning the room into a sweatbox.

Little bit disappointed with this hostel. In a good location to the rest of the city and the bar is nice but the room seemed a bit run down. The shower door and fan were broken and the bed was dirty before I got in it. The hostel needs to have a bit of a referb in some of the rooms.

Wombats City Hostel Vienna - The Lounge says

Most large hostels have comfy modern facilities, but are bland and lack in atmosphere. For us, it´s very important to only hire staff who knows what a hostel actually is, stay in them when they travel themselves and so know from firsthand experience what the guests expect. I think our hostel is ideal for anyone who think hotels are too boring of a place to stay. We have almost all the amenities you expect from a hotel, but a good hostel offers so much more.
We're right on Mariahilfer St, Vienna's biggest shopping Road, but the Kahlenberg Hill is my favourite place. It's the easternmost hill in the Vienna woods, still inside Vienna's city limits but in the middle of the vineyards, well connected with public transport. When the city is baking in the summer sun, there's always a fresh breeze up there, a superb view over Vienna and a café with good ice cream. Klaus, CFO Wombats
