Property Description

Woodstock Beach Camp is a unique place to stay. It’s located 8.5km outside of Cat Ba town in a remote bay with a private beach. Across the road is our Wooden House with the reception and a large chillout area. We have hammocks and couches to relax, as well big wooden tables to sit at. It’s a crazy place and we are a team full of artists and musicians. We love to create and bring out our passion. As the place is called “Woodstock”, we love music and love to play it. Express yourself and experience what we call Home.

We have different sleeping opportunitys:
-3 separate 8-bed dorms near the Wooden House with AC for 6$ per person
-2 separate 6-bed dorms on the beachside with a bathroom inside and AC for 7$ per person
-3 separate private 3-bed rooms upstairs of the reception with a bathroom inside and AC for 25$ per room
-2 separate private 4-bed rooms upstairs of the reception with a bathroom inside and AC for 30$
-8 matresses on the balcony upstairs outside of the private rooms for 4$ per person, which is not available to book online
-10 2-person tents on the beach with matress, pillow and blanket for 8$ per tent
-10 matresses in the “Shack”, a bamboo straw hut, for 3$ per person, which is not available to book online
-Bring your own hammock or tent for 3$ per person

We are not a 5* Hotel and we also don’t want to be one. We are located on an island, so you will be able to see a cockroach or spider once in a while.
We have hammocks on the beach to enjoy our view around the bay.
The reception side closes at 8pm and the bar at the beach will open. We have big speakers and microphones, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, base guitar and a drum kit, so if you are a musician, you are welcome to do what you love.
We run open mics, live music, fire shows, pub quiz, game nights and as well movie nights on our projector in the Wooden House.
Ask our staff for inside tips what to do on this island, for example the secret beach or bunker.
We run festivals every two weeks with live music, big bonfire, fireshow and DJ with psytrance beats until sunrise. It will be big and loud, and an incredible night to remember.
You can book tours and busses with us.
We have scooters, kayaks and bicycles for rental, as well laundry service and a free shuttle everyday to town and back.
We have a menu with meat, veggie and vegan options, served from 7:30am-8pm.

Spent some great time at Woodstock. It has a nice chill vibe. I guess bad reviews come from people who don't get it. Waking up by the beach, listening to awesome tunes, live music at night, awesome people from all over... what more can you ask for? Wish I could’ve stayed longer. Definitely coming back sometime.

Super great vibes! The staff are very friendly. The location is amazing, it’s literally beach front. The food is not that great. But everything else was pretty amazing.

We stayed in a private room, clean with a fridge and AC. Beds super comfy. Right next to the beach and can hire cheap bikes to get into. We did the ha long bay tour which was really good, little more expensive then the offers in town but amazing all the same. Would stay again for sure! Hippy vibes also.

We booked a 4 bed private room with a/c. The rooms were clean and comfortable (a bit of nature, bugs.) The location is isolated unless you hire a motorbike, the centre is about a 15 minute drive. They do have a bar and restaurant, if you’re happy with staying in the one spot. Disappointed with the food. I ordered a vegetarian noodles but staff brought chicken noodles. Once they realised they had made a mistake, instead of making a new meal, they just decided to take out the chicken.

This hostel is definitely a hippy vibe. If that is you you'll love it, if not potentially it isn't for you. The staff were friendly however the facilities were not very good and it is a very long way from the main township

It's as if Pai and Woodstock had a child that doesn't try to live up to their reputation but brags about it anyway. If you're looking for a place with individuals pretentious individuals who think they are “intuned to the world" and constantly talk about what's wrong with it without actually doing anything to make it a better place, this may be a good place for you. If you don't appreciate privacy, cleanliness or feeling as you can safely leave your belongings for the day, then check it out.

By far the worst hostel I have stayed at in Asia. Multiple people got food poisoning, the hangout areas were dirty, and the rooms weren’t much better. To top it off, I woke up to a scratching sound to find a rat chewing holes through my bags. I told the reception about this, and they didn’t seem surprised, and didn’t offer to help me fix my bags or reimburse me. Terrible experience here.

Good for a visit if you like to smoke but don't bother staying here. A ton of pretentious hippy kids 'work' here while Vietnamese women run the place. The hostel its self is pretty dirty, the rooms especially. Don't eat the food here, very real possibility you'll end up sick. Also the hostel is pretty remote so you're going to need a bike, I wouldn't recommend renting from the hostel as the bikes were in terrible condition.
