Property Description

Woodstock Beach Camp is a unique place to stay. It’s located 8.5km outside of Cat Ba town in a remote bay with a private beach. Across the road is our Wooden House with the reception and a large chillout area. We have hammocks and couches to relax, as well big wooden tables to sit at. It’s a crazy place and we are a team full of artists and musicians. We love to create and bring out our passion. As the place is called “Woodstock”, we love music and love to play it. Express yourself and experience what we call Home.

We have different sleeping opportunity's:
-3 separate 6-bed dorms near the Wooden House with AC
-2 separate 6-bed dorms on the beach side, with en-suite bathroom and AC
-3 separate private 3-bed rooms upstairs of the reception with a bathroom inside and AC
-2 separate private 4-bed rooms upstairs of the reception with a bathroom inside and AC
-10 2-person tents on the beach with mattress, pillow and blanket
-Bring your own hammock or tent

We are not a 5* Hotel and we also don’t want to be one. We are located on an island, so you will be able to see wildlife once in a while.
We have hammocks on the beach to enjoy our view around the bay.
The reception side closes at 8 pm.
We run open mics, live music, fire shows, pub quiz, game nights and as well movie nights on our projector in the Wooden House.
Ask our staff for inside tips what to do on this island, for example the secret beach or bunker.
We run festivals every two weeks with live music, big bonfire, fire-show and DJ with psytrance beats until sunrise. An incredible night to remember.
You can book tours and buses with us.
We have scooters for rental, as well laundry service and a free shuttle everyday to town and back.
We have a menu with meat, veggie and vegan options, served from 7:30 am - 8 pm.
You can join our traditional family dinner everyday at 6:30 pm with loads of different Vietnamese style food, cooked by our Vietnamese staff.
We recycle and you are welcome to join our recycling art projects.
Enjoy our happy hour deals at the bar.
Stay at Woodstock and be part of our family, which includes puppy's and super friendly dogs.
Own pets only upon request!!

This hostel has a lovely location on the beach, but it is out of the way so taxis or scooters needed. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is chilled. One of the guys at reception was very helpful in suggesting places in Vietnam to visit.

This is my third time staying at Woodstock and each time I leave with the best of memories and times. This is a hippy hostel that operates like a hippy hostel. The food is tasty, the beer is cold, and the people are happy. It’s just good fun. It is easy to spend a lot of money as the hostel has a tab system and when the beer is coming, you just want another. I love Woodstock and the environment it has created.

    Fabulous

My friends and I had a really great time at Woodstock Beach Camp. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. We stayed in private tents which a fun change from the dorm experience we usually have at hostels. The camp was super layed back and had some chill activities like games, movie nights and a fire show. It was a perfect long weekend.

    Very Good

The private room was forgoten by time. It was full of dust and old mattresses. The bathroom in our room would need a little cleaning. The walls are full of holes so you can see in the next room. Otherwise the staff was realy helpfull and the price of foods and drinks was okay. The only big minuses for the hostel: they gave no information about the island (until we asked) and the beach bar mostly plays psy trance music wich is not everybodys favourite.

We booked a private. Walls were so thin we got woken at all times in the evening by dogs and lovebirds. Cosy atmosphere. Very chilled, laid back, all types welcome. Staff were sooooo friendly.

The location and the idea of this hostel is great, however the hippies staying there long-term were not very welcoming, quite pretentious and arrogant. I didn't get a good vibe. If you are covered in tattoos and dreadlocks you will probably be welcomed with arms wide open. If not... It is not very clean and the food made me sick. In the end they lost my passport as well which you have to leave at the reception at the beginning of you stay and it took me 3 days to get it back..

our room was super dirty and smelled like mould, the roof was literally rotting on to one of the beds. beach was also dirty made that way by the "hippies" who were staying there. we stayed in a "beach dorm" which meant people who were not staying in our room running off the beach and using our ensuite whenever they felt like it. food was unappetizing. booked 3 nights only stayed one and switched to a hotel which was considerably cheaper (and nicer)

It's as if Pai and Woodstock had a child that doesn't try to live up to their reputation but brags about it anyway. If you're looking for a place with individuals pretentious individuals who think they are “intuned to the world" and constantly talk about what's wrong with it without actually doing anything to make it a better place, this may be a good place for you. If you don't appreciate privacy, cleanliness or feeling as you can safely leave your belongings for the day, then check it out.
