Nice hostel! Awesome having a shuttle service to the crossing. Facilities were nice and clean. Staff stayed late to help check us in which was fantastic.

Great place to stay, and they offer a return shuttle service to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing for $40. They even have rain jackets and hiking boots for rent if needed before the hike. There was a rock climbing facility within the hostel as well. Great stay overall!

This is a great hostel in National Park. The facilities and room are all clean and very nice. I stayed in the cheapest room (10 people I think) and the max I had was 5 in the room. The only downside is that it's quite far away from any major walking destination. If you have your own car this is no worry, but if you dont make sure to schedule a bus or shuttle ticket to the main hiking stations. Also, there aren't many major restaurants nearby, ie there isn't really a town at all where the hostel.

Well located for a trip to London tongariro and really friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities. Our room was next door to the kitchen of lots of skiing kids which made things a bit noisy but otherwise not a bad stay.

Neat environment, friendly people, mostly European tourists, some Indians. Should provide lock cupboard for storage inside the room.

Was kinda annoyed that my card was not accepted here (apparently they only accept NZ cards) and there are no ATMs in the area. Also the laundry was only open from 1-9pm which was a little annoying but the machines worked well. The room was nice, clean although not overly warm. The location was great and the kitchen/common areas were definitely the highlight of the place.

There is no where to lock your things other than your room, and you must pay for wifi. However staff were really nice and place was good otherwise!

The room stank of paint. Facilities here are pretty dated. Got put in a room that one side was the tv lounge so noise till late, other side was the laundry room so noise early when staff started washing bedding. Staff were friendly but not very helpful. Took someone 5 minutes and a phone call just to open the till. They charge a frankly extortionate amount for wifi. There is nothing to do here if the weather is bad for the alpine crossing. Wouldn’t stay again

Not much good to say about this hostel besides the amazing view from the kitchen. Rooms were poor and we had to walk outside to get to the bathrooms. You had to pay for WiFi which is almost unheard of these days. Location was good for the mountains.
