Our booking was easy & fast. Our clerk was helpful, the place, was very clean, tidy, quiet, and lots of activities for my kids to do. The facilities, bedroom, shower, & kitchen were very adequate for what we needed and the price we paid. We booked a dorm for 5 and we will come again if we are in Taranaki. Thank you.

This place was great! Had a very communal feeling and meet some great people after making dinner here. The view and back patio are beautiful and the room had a sink which was nice. The bathrooms were also very clean and had hair dryers... I didn't use it but it was a nice touch. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. The only downfall was the kitchen was a bit small when everyone was cooking dinner at the same time but it worked out ok.

Great location with amazing staff. I had a number of large valuables in my car at the time and the manager allowed me to park in her spot for the week, as most guest parking is up on street level. They even allowed me to use a large locker to store items inside of the hostel. The place has a very open airy feeling, with lots of sunlight in the lounge. I setup my computer monitor here and was able to work without issue (fast internet) for several days. Thanks!

We stayed for two nights and had an amazing stay. We had a room to ourselves which was really nice with some privacy for a change. The hostel is really homely and cozy. There was a piano (keyboard) - cool! We enjoyed everything about our stay.

Backpacker style cabin. Staff were friendly but the building is clearly showing age. Quite humid and dusty. Everything else perfect

It was a nice hostel, not the best I've been to. It was surprisingly full. The kitchen was pretty old school - but it was well equiped with all you need. It has been a short to medium stay place where young travellers live while in New Plymouth.

I stayed here for one night, it's a nice quiet hostel that works if you want a place to relax. The walls between bedrooms are pretty thin though

Although quiet this time of year, the hostel was so cosy and welcoming. Bit of a trek out of town but great views in the morning.

    Very Good

Staff was really really great and helpfull. 5/5 for them ! The (private) rooms were ok. The kitchen is not convenient at all. It was dirty, and it need a lot more ustensils. Also, there is only 1 bathroom for the private rooms. Thus, we had to go to the shared bathrooms. That was not clean at all, nor usefull. We were just coming from YHA Rotorua, which was perfect, and we were expecting the same quality's accomodation.

Hello Yes, the Hostel was adequate but not inspiring. I'll tell you why. Think it may have been to do with no foreign backpackers in our country at present - well hardly any. I felt lost in that big lounge. By the way - the safety diagrams , hand drawn and laminated, in eachj room: they should be orientated so the general directions follow the correct orientation. Otherwise they are misleading in an emergency. You may have to get some professional draftsperson / cartographer to redo them
