I have never stayed in a Hostel before but we booked up for a two night stay because of the price. Didn’t really know what expect but was so impressed, not only was it cleaner than some hotels I’ve stayed in but with a choice of purchasing food and drink which was good, or being able to take and cook your own was really great. We had to sleep in bunk beds but that really wasn’t a problem. The location was excellent with a lovely riverside walk straight into York. I would highly recommend.

I travelled with my mum and booked a private room with ensuite toilet which was a must. The room was very spacious although there were few things missing like a proper wardrobe. The kitchen was fully equipped. We had Continental Breakfast the first morning and it was okay. Staff was lovely for the whole stay, very helpful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I liked that there were also several families with children (so forgive the idea that an hostel is just for young people travelling cheap.

Hannah and Dominic were so friendly and helpful checking us in. They went above and beyond answering all our questions. The ONLY criticism I have is that the shower room smelt of drains to the point where 50% of the party refused to use it. The beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect for walking into town. Overall a great stay and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you so much Jo and Co

Really great hostel! The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food on sale was of good quality and not expensive. Location wasn’t bad. About 25-30 minute walk to the York town

The hostel was very clean and well organised. The entire night there were groups of girls shouting and running up and down the corridors which made it very difficult to sleep, however with some earplugs this wouldn't be an issue. The location is a little out of town, however very walkable and convenient - about 20-25minutes depending how quickly you walk.

Nice enough. Staff seemed nice but main issue was the heating - we stayed mid May. Arrived at around six and went to our room, was sweltering. Asked reception on the way back out who promised it would cool down as the heating would turn off. It didn’t, so room was far too hot the whole night - barely slept. Windows barely opened as well so awful circulation. Bad for environment too.

The staff were really nice and helpful. Thats just about the only positive I can give this place. Wifi only worked in the lobby area and not exceptionally well. York isn't big but this was about a 15 minute walk to the city centre so it wasn't really close comparatively. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
