    Superb

Just stayed here for one night but the man at reception who checked us in was lovely, the garden was gorgeous and there was a good atmosphere in the place. Played some table tennis and enjoyed the bar. The rooms just got very hot in the night even with the fans on. Showers were very nice.

As one of the (or maybe the one) cheapest hostels in town, it’s well worth the price, although it’s still a bit pricey for Quintana Roo in general. Shared bathrooms are clean and well in order (they even have hot water! that’s quite rare for the area), the rooms have AC for the night, so almost no mosquitoes. Friendly atmosphere with some events during the week. The only disappointing thing is the breakfast, which is for free but hardly satisfactory.

This hostel is really sweet! Free breakfast is great and everything was clean. They even have a shuttle to bring you to their eco camping straight at the bacalar lagoon where you can rent a kanu for 150 pesos. Its just 5 min walk from the central park where you find loads of restaurants and make some dog friends. We enjoyed our stay, thanks a lot!

The place is great for the quantity of money you pay, don’t expect more. The location isn’t bad.

For the price this hostel is amazing ! Cute big outdoor common area with gardens and well set out. Breakfast was basic but loved the touches like fresh orange juice and some biscuits to have with tea or coffee! Beds were very comfy! Private beach club was cool ! My biggest complaint is why on earth are you turning the AC’s off at 4am. All the windows and doors are closed and everyone wakes up sweating in the hot box room. I’d rather not have it at all and have some fans for airflow :)

    Very Good

    28 Dec 2019
Overall a good hostel for one or two nights in Bacalar. The atmosphere is peaceful and the hostel is quiet. The dorms and facilities are a bit rustic (the dorms are quite dark, the bathrooms are outside the rooms so one needs to walk there, small lockers, no bedrails on upper bunks...) and the breakfast could definitely be improved. But the prices are low and a huge plus is the "second part" of the hostel, a bit outside town and by the lake, which you can enter without additional cost.

    Good

I dont like to write bad reviews but seriously, on arrival the receptionist didnt pay attention to us and rather talk to housekeeping lady, the breakfast is poor so we bought some avocado, I simply ask for salt&pepper and they say NO literally not even trying to be nice. Check out is at 12 but when I got back from breakfast at 10.15 my bed sheet were gone .. The volunteers are friendly and nice, luckily and the beds are comfy. Thats all I can say.

Breakfast was average, white bread, watery coffee, jello, cup of fruit. Rooms get very hot and stuffy. The pillows are tiny. We asked for a sheet change because we were there awhile and it never happened. Location was okay, your around 6 blocks from the lagoon and a few blocks away from small food markets. The kitchen doesnt have basic cooking things such as salt and oil.

Really really bad hostel the way it is situated and the beds and pillow are so bad. The rooms are bad and they charged out credit cards before we even arrived as when we arrived we wanted to pay cash but they already charged our cards no hostel has ever done that it really annoyed so many people staying there. The whole set up of the hostel is really bad and the staff isn't great too!!

this place feels very unloved. The dorms are over crowded, the showers stink and all the time we were there (2 days) they played the same 5 Christmas songs over and over on repeat. It really feels like the management have given up.
