Yes! Lisbon Hostel won several Hoscars in 2011, including being named as the most popular in Lisbon, so it's no wonder Hostelworld guests consistently rate all aspects of the hostel above 95%, from cleanliness and security to location and fun. Our reviewers frequently praise their 'amazing', 'lovely' and 'funny' English- and Spanish-speaking staff. We like their nightly dinners for â'¬10, which one Hostelworld guest said was 'like in a 5* restaurant'; there's even vegetarian options available. They also offer free shots every night, free tea, coffee and chocolate, free walking tours and pub crawls.

Overview

At Yes! Lisbon Hostel, we'll help you get the party started with our free shots and pub crawls. You can head off on a free walking tour around the city during the day after sampling our free tea, coffee and chocolates. We do dinners, too, so you'll soon be swapping travel stories with other guests over a scrumptious meal. Our common areas, like the cosy lounge and on-site bar, are buzzing places to chat with other backpackers or to try your first taste of vinho verde (green wine).

Location

Because our location's so central, you can save cash by skipping public transport. We're a 2-minute stroll from the big Praça do Comércio square and the Baixa Pombalina downtown area, and Lisbon Portela Airport is about 35 minutes away by Aerobus. The old quarter of Alfama, with its quaint, twisty streets and cobbled footpaths, is about 15 minutes away on foot. The iconic No 28 tram, which takes you past many of Lisbon's most famous sights, stops in the street right behind our hostel!

Rooms and Dorms

Book a private room or keep some extra euros in your pocket by going for a mixed or female-only dorm. Some are en-suite, and all have air con and lockers. Your bedding's included and every bunk's got a light, so you can read a couple of chapters of the novel you got from the book exchange before dozing off. Book a custom-made bunk with a curtain if you like your privacy without a big price tag.

Extras and activities

As well as a kitchen for prepping your meals in, we've got free Wi-Fi for looking up recipes. Our elevator means you can pop down to the 24-hour reception in no time and ask about our trips to Sintra to see fairy-tale castles in the hills. Up for sticking around the hostel instead? There are board games, a PlayStation and DVDs to keep you entertained.

I never care to leave reviews but I loved this place too much not to. Bea (hope I'm spelling that right) was awesome and gave me so many good recommendations for how to spend my last day in Lisbon. The beds were comfortable with privacy, a reading light, a shelf and a drawer that you can use to store your luggage. The bathrooms were also really clean and the shower actually stayed hot and didn't turn off every thirty seconds like at most hostels. You really get what you pay for here 10/10

Yes! Hostel is by far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. It was my first time traveling and I was immediately welcomed by a friendly face named Rui (whose awesome btw). As well as everyone else who works he to make it so special and create a lovely atmosphere! I recommend going on the walking tours as it’s a good way to get to know people as well as the pub crawl which is a must to see Lisbon’s awesome nightlife! The breakfast for €3 is very substantial, and the €10 3 course meal speaks for..

I just returned from Portugal, my first time abroad on my own and my first time ever in continental Europe. Yes Hostel made the experience unforgettable and amazing in every way possible! Staff was ceaselessly helpful, and the hostel-hosted activities helped me to connect with people from different countries organically and irrevocably. The memories I made here will stay with me forever. Thanks Yes!

Negative: Some staff (in particular the slim guy in the evening) was annoyed and fed up of his job and therefore was rude to ppl. If you don’t like your job go find something, don’t spill your hatred on your customers because of whom you are earning your bread. Positive: The female staff specially the short hair girl was super sweet and friendly. Something to learn. Super impressed of her resilience and friendly attitude. Overall good atmosphere, opportunity to meet travelers, fun activities
