Property Description

Zeru Zeru Eco Local Wild Lodge is a small accommodation located on the south coast of Zanzibar. It’s strategic position between 2 beautiful beaches, Kae Beach (well known for its sunset) and Pingwe Beach (well known for The Rock Restaurant), and not far from the villages of Dongwe, Bwejuu, Paje and Jambiani, makes Zeru Zeru a perfect spot for those looking for a tropical paradise to relax, far from the crowded beaches of Zanzibar.

Our bungalows have a king size bed with mosquito net, private bathroom with shower (unheated water), wardrobe, fan, outdoor kitchenette with gas cylinder, table with chairs, private garden with sunbeds, free mountain bikes, Wi Fi connection. An extra bed can fit in the room (on request).

Zeru Zeru provides to its guests an outdoor pool, a Footpool (the 1st snooker billiard in Africa!), mountain bikes, Wi Fi connection in all the property and a small boutique.
The on-site restaurant offers main meal {breackfast, lunch, dinner. } . It is managed by a group of local guys who , without pay any rent fee to our company, can use taking the profit for their self. They run the buiseness as humanitarian project . Giving a good service to our guest serving tasdty local and international food .

Zeru Zeru, unlike most Resorts, Hotel etc on the island, has decided to respect the environment and the community that hosts it, which is why the structure is entirely powered by solar panels that provide electricity, water comes from source of the village, the staff employed comes from neighbouring villages. We do not have a / c that would require excessive energy from the local network, but we enjoy the natural breeze of Michamvi Hill. View House Rules

I loved staying at Zeru Zeru! This is a part of the island less popular, more tranquil. Jack (manager) was super helpful and took us to special places, off the beaten track. This was the best! The atmosphere of the hostel is light, it provides a space for interaction among the guests, and for this, I made friends for life. I'll save some wonderful memories! Asante sana!

Zeru Zeru was amazing. The staff were the best I’ve met. The atmosphere is lush and the free bike use was so convenient and such fun. It is located in between two beaches (so not actually on the beach) which initially I was disappointed at, but by the first night I was so much happier to be at Zeru Zeru than anywhere else as you have the freedom to go to the ocean side where the rock restaurant is or go to sunset beach without having to use any tour or public transport...just the bikes.

As previous reviews have said this hostel is a special place! Its a bit out of Paje but you can get there easily enough on dala dala or if you're doing something like kiesurfing getting the company to pick you up. But its one of the most friendly places I have stayed. Jack (the manager)personally makes sure everything is good, and helps with the amazing cooking (great fish), and is an all round great person to meet. Also near to one of best sunsets on zanzibar

You have to try this place, it is full of wonderful surprises! Jacko is the most wonderful new manager, very caring and will make you feel so welcome. Every night we all had dinner together, it was family away from home. The location is incredible, a 5 minute bike ride to two beautiful beaches one of the East and one on the West for sunset! This place is Zanzibar’s best kept secret!

One of the most unique hostels I have ever been to - had a great time here. Excellent food, great location between two nice beaches and friendly staff. The free bike usage for exploring the local area was very useful.

This is a very nice place in a quite part of the island. It is a great value, and if you take a dala dala you can get there cheaply from town. The only problem I had was when I needed to be somewhere early or late the taxis were expensive. Still a very nice place and a beautiful part of the island

If you're looking for a Zanzibar experience on a budget, Zeru Zeru is the perfect place. It's not right on the beach, but it's a short and pleasant walk to a beautiful east-facing beach in one direction, on the Indian Ocean, and a beautiful west-facing beach in the other direction, on a bay. You get both sunrise and sunset options this way, fantastic and rare. The staff are great and accommodating, the hostel has an open, peaceful, tropical feel to it, and it's excellent value for money.
