I was very impressed with my stay! It was very clean! Floors and room were clean. Atmosphere is nice - there’s food and drinks all throughout the day, which is very convenient. I forgot a lock, so I only put a 5€ deposit when I borrowed it. Staff were extremely friendly! I would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at A&O was really amazing. Our group had the room all for ourselves, it was clean with all the necessities such as bedsheet, towels and even hairdryer + shower gel. The staff was friendly and helpful. P.S.: Those mattresses were so comfortable, I would bring them home with me!

The hostel was overall good HOWEVER, I booked an all female room and when I got there, I took a nap and when I woke up, there was a man in my room! I obviously asked him what he was doing there and he said they sent him there and that was his room! I explained that the room was supposed to be an girl room and went to sleep again. When I woke up, he told me that the rest of the people coming were guys. I went to reception and they fixed which I’m grateful for!!

The place is kind of far from the city center, but super close to the metro station (it's just a 2 minute walk). It's a very big hostel, so the atmosphere is not super great, but you get a good value for the price which counted most for my trip. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It was quite far away from the city. During the day this was not a problem, as the metro runs very quite close to the hostel. However, once the metro stops running at like 9pm, it takes an hour to get there from city center via bus, which is not great if you're having a night out at the bars and clubs or in the coffee shops. However, the staff were helpful enough and it was nice and clean and quiet.

The only hostel I’ve ever been to were they charge you for sleeping sheets... For the price of this hostel you honestly better off booking a hotel.

    Very Good

Fine hostel if you just need somewhere to sleep for a little while. The beds were a bit creaky (not unexpected) but everything was clean and safe. It's especially nice that there is a guest kitchen for preparing food. The biggest downsides are that there's not a really comfortable common area, so if you are trying to meet people this wouldn't really be the place to go, and that it's a bit far from central Amsterdam. The Metro is right there, but expect to spend an extra €3 each way to the city.

You can definitely get better value for your money elsewhere. It’s pretty far away from the city and for what you pay you get absolute bare bones. No atmosphere at all, just really standard hostel for a deluxe price

Bad management, single female travelling alone, was placed in two private rooms with men before finally getting moved to a 4 bed mixed dorm. If I was to go back I would definitely go for a 6 bed dorm as I feel like the muck up they did couldn’t happen. Not very good for single travellers more for groups. More of a hotel vibe not a fun friendly hostel vibe.

It’s quite far out of Amsterdam central. There’s really no atmosphere here, just a place to sleep and shower. Cheap for Amsterdam but wouldn’t stay again.
